number of dialogues were also given by
the schools, a very massing one being
" Telling the News," by a quntette of
girls, who acted the old ladies to perfec-

present visiting his brother Robert, of
this township.
The examination of tho pupils of S. S.
No. 6, of this township, took place on
Thursday,under the direction of the
new teacer, Mr. James Regan. A large
number of visitors, interested in achoo

hearty approval of the labors of the
teacher. Each clue showed • marked
improvement In all their studies, especial
ly in arithmetic. It was a very success-
ful examination. Mr. Regan has gained
the confidence of his pupils, and as he
devotes all his energies towards perfect-
ing them in their studies it is not to be
wondered at that their proficiency is re-
markable.
