from the town of Perth, county of Lan-

for the purpose of examining and seeing
t sited oue of the Ronald Steam Fire
Engines, were J. W. Pink, Chairman of
the Fire Committee; Wm. Butter, Coun-

the Perth Bolt Factory. They stated
that they had only two hand engines in
their town, which is a place over 3,000
inhabitauts. They had pawed a by-law
fur the purchase of a wtea'ner, but as the
coun al was divided as to what steamer
they should purchase, hence the purpose
of the committee's visit. They express -

the test that they had seen the engine
put to, and nn Tuesday last a meauge
was received by Mr. Ronald, saying that
the council of Perth had deoided to put,
chase an egine from him, and asking him
to have one completed fur them as soon
as passible.
Threshing is about completed here.
