con., has threshed sixty bushels of fall
wheat from two bushels of seed The
wheat is a new variety known as "Michi-
gan Amber,' and presents a very fine
appearance, being clear and white in the
straw and does not lodge as badly as the
Seneca. Mr. John Brown has a tield of
barley which returned hint f, r:y-five
bushels to the acre.

THE WHEELED Hoes. -The wonderful
bicycle is the talk of the town. During
the past week a number of centaurs has
passed to and from the Point Farm.
Coming from Goderich, one of • the
bicyclists was observed to be carefully
leading his machine up the hill. On the
way home he essayed to ride the "ani -
utile" up the steep, but it pawed mettle-
some, and sent him to the ground.

OBITUARY. - We are. sorry to have to
record the death of Mr. Isaac Nicholson,
of this township, which (secured on Friday
the 4th inst. The deoeased had suffered
from cancer for abut 6 months, but
bore up throughout under this painful
disease with patience and resignation.
Ir. Nicholson canto to this place front

ago, when this fine fertile township was
comparatively new, and the giants of the
forest stood thick, in what are now cultiv-
ated fields and tine orchards. He was 63
years of age.
