A large crowd attended and enjoyed the variedprogramme, Rey,. John Roberts wa.s chairman and was in his usual good form. Included in the programme were recitations by Anne Procter,. Andrew Walsh, Shelia Anderson, Judy and Donald Carmichael and Andrea Coultes. The Sunday School chorus presented several excellent numbers accompanied by Mrs. George- Johnston, The Junior Boys entertained with a short skit called f( A Tall Tale" while the .Junior Girls introduced everyone to their fav- ourite "Cousin Joshua". A new musical group called the "Icicles" provided selections. and everyone enjoyed several instrumentals -by the Lougheed family, The Beginners enter, tained with recitations and songs including a duet by Alison Coultes and Katherine procter. "Charlie Brown's Christmas playlet" presented by the Inter- mediate boys and girls was written by the class members themselves. The "Coultes' Girls entertained with songs and the Senior Primary class presented a number entitled "A Birthday Cake". A skit performed by Calvin, Glen and Marjorie Nixon and. a recitation by Clifford Coultes. were enjoyed. A feature of the programme was a skit by the Senior (Citi- zens??) called "Thursday night at Our House". The programme concluded with a visit from Santa Claus who distributed gifts and candy. Win at Euchre Nine tables of euchre were played at the Belgrave Commun- ity Centre last Wednesday even- ing. Prizes were won by High Lady - Mrs. William Tay= lor; Novelty - Mrs. Olive Walker; Low - Mrs. Percy Adams; High Man - Edgar Wight- man; Novelty - Gordon Nicholson; Low - William Gow. The next euchre will be on January 3rd. WI hears Christmas message The Christmas meeting of the Belgrave Women's Institute was held in the Community C entre on Tuesday of last week. Seven- teen members and seven visitors were present. The opening exercises and business were conducte d by the president, Mrs. NormanCoultes. Following the reading of the minutes and the financial state- ment, correspondence was read. Thank you notes were from Mrs. Cecil Coultes and family, Mrs. Hazel Purdon and Mrs. Hazel Procter. A bank account will be started by the Institute for Miss Jennifer Ruth Procter, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Procter, Mrs. William Coultes, con-. vener of the meeting, introduced as guest speaker, Mrs. James . Ward of Wingham. Mrs. Ward spoke on "Thoughts of Christmas'", giving her audience an inspiring seasonal message. She was thanked and presented with a gift. The Coultes' Sisters, Janice, Joanne, Karen, Andrea and Alison sang two Christmas numbers with Mrs. George Johnston accom- panying. Mrs. Coultes con- ducted a Christmas quiz and some well known carols were sung by everyone. Lunch was served by the committee in charge - Mrs. Glenn Coultes, Mrs. Carl Procter and mrs. Jack Taylor. and family attended a faintly dinner onTuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Sam Skinner of Centralia. Peter Mason of Huron Park spent Christmas with his parents Mr, and Mrs. Kenneth Mason. Miss Call Mayberry of Kit- chener spent the holiday week end with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hanna.
