Christmas meeting at the 11004e

by Mrs. L. Weber. Mrs. Ted
Gill and Mrs. L. weber will be
the representatives to the Hail.
Board for 1970. Mrs, 13. Godden
gave the topic on Christmas.
Christmas contests were con-
ducted by Mrs. Weber. 'Carol
singing ended the meeting with
lunch served by Mrs. Tom Mc-
Farlane and the hostess.
The Ethel held their
Christmas meeting in the form of
a visitation to all shut-ins with
boxes taken to each. The ladies
returned to Mrs. Russ. Wilbee's
for lunch and to conduct business."

Mrs. Percy Stephenson has
been released from Hamilton
Hospital after her eye operation.
She and Mr. Stephenson are
staying in Hamilton for a visit
In spite of the icy conditions
over 40 turned out to the first
get together of the Senior Cit-
izens of this area in the United
Church basement.
Leona Armstrong welcomed
the group on behalf of the Wom-
en's Institute and Mr. LeDrew
gave them a hearty welcome to
meet in the church at any time.
The programme got under way
with the singing of several fav-
orite carols. Mr. and Mrs. Hank
Exel sang two duets, one being
sung in Dutch, accompanied by
Mrs. Joanne King. Mrs. Ada
Armstrong gave a reading en-
titled, Christmas Joys. Mrs.
Wm. King, Sr.. rendered a piano
solo, The Vesper Chimes and
Mrs. Winifred Edgar and Mrs.
Lulu Kerr sang a pleasing duet.
A poem entitled Country Christ-
mas was read by Mrs. Earl
Cudmore.

various symbols of Christmas
and several of the Senior Cit-
izens took part. The Majestic.
Stompers played several Christ-
mas pieces. Those taking part
were Peggy Cudmore, Alberta
Smith, Sheila McFadden, Marie
McCutcheon, Leona Connelly,
Leona Armstrong and Lulu Kerr.
Mrs. Armstrong thanked all
those taking part with a special
thank you to the car drivers.
Grace was sung and lunch was
served by the committee, Mrs.
Ada Armstrong, Mrs. Leona Con-
nelly, Mrs. Etta Annett and Mrs.
Jessie Engel. On behalf of those
present Cecil McFadden thanked
the Institute for arranging such
an enjoyable afternoon.
The next get together will be
a card party in the Legion Hall
on Wednesday, January 17th at
2 p.m.
