Gifts gratefully declined - your good wishes only. 26-51-1 Bluevale institute meets Correspondent Mrs. Lillian Elliott Twenty-five ladies and eight children attended the Christmas meeting of the Bluevale Women's Institute held at the home of Mrs. Jim Armstrong on Wed- nesday afternoon. Mrs. Mel Craig presided for the meeting which was opened with the Institute Ode following which Mrs.Gordon Mundell gave a Christmas mes- sage. The Roll Call was answered by each member donating a gift to the Cancer Cupboard. Business dealing with the Huronview Birth- day party was discussed and cards were signed for the sick and shut-ins. A note of apprecia- tion was read from Mrs. M. L. Aitken who is spending the winter months in Wingham. A musical contest of seasonable songs was conducted by and with Mrs. Carl Johnston at the piano. Due to the absence of the District Pres- ident, Mrs. Harold Wallace, Mrs. Harry Elliott gave a reading. A penny auction, with branch directors in charge was held, with items sold such as yarn, home made candy, bottled muf- fin mix, baking, hand lotion, linens, stuffed animals and many more. Miss Elizabeth Armstrong ent- ertained the ladies with several piano selections and all enjoyed a carol sing-song. A Christmas luncheon was served by the host- ess, assisted by Mrs. Murray Jenkins, Mrs. J. J. Elliott and Miss Emma Johnston.
