Saturday following arrival of a parade arranged by the LionS Club, Legion and Mercants Asso,
ciation.
It was a cold wintery morning on Monday when Morris Township officials
gathered at the. Clark bridge to carry out official opening ceremonies. Be.
of the weather the program was limited to a symbolic ribbon cutting carried
out by Doug Armitage, of the Ministry of Highways, Stratford and Murray
Gaunt, Huron Bruce MPP. Holding the ribbon are (left) Morris Reeve Wm.
Elston and Engineer Robert Dowson of Stratford, who designed the 160 foot
bridge which was built by Maloney Bros. Ltd . of Dublin at a tender price
of $95,836.50. In the background are members of Morris Council Thomas
Miller, James Moir, Ross Smith and Robert Grasby together with other

Santa Claus blew into Brussels
Saturday, from the North Pole,
on a cold north westerly wind
spiced with blustery snow. He
was making his annual pre-
Christmas visit to the children
of the community.
In spite of the uncooperative
weather a good many children
were on hand to receive their
treat from Santa when he met
with them at the Legion Hall.
On his arrival here jolly St.
Nick was welcomed at the Mc-
Donald Lumber Yard. The par-
ade, unfortunately curtailed by
the adverse elements, preceded
him and his prancing reindeer
after their cold trip. Accomoda-
ted on a suitably decorated truck
they arrived in the business
area, escorted by a police cruis-
er, and to the music of the
Royal Candian Legion Pipe Band.
Included in the parade were
a number of floats, horses and
riders, and snowmobiles.

The cold stormy Saturday night
did not deter people from at-
tending "The Magic of Christ-
mas" presented in the Brus-
sels arena by the Figure Skating
Club. There was a good audience
in attendance to enjoy the pres-
entation.
The arena was attractively dec-
orated for the occasion with
colored lights, silver foil,
Christmas scenes and Christmas
trees. Costumes were imagina-
tive and colorful. The young
skaters were delightful in their
performance of the following pro-
