the United Dairy Producers Co-
operative for a two year term
at a zone meeting in Elma com-
munity Centre, Atwood on Friday.

Mr. Bann, who is president of
U.D.P.C. said the U.D.P.C. had
enjoyed another good year of
operations with growth in all
areas of business. Building of the
new Toronto facilities at 100
Clayson Road, Weston, was a
major accomplishment during the
year. The new plant, located on
four acres of land, has 53,000
sq. ft. and houses the head office,
warehousing and distribution for-
merly carried on at Oak Street,
Weston, as well as the special
product processing which has
been handled at Torbarrie Road,
Downsview.
The President also said that
the directors had decided to re-
commend to the Annual Meeting
a change in name from United
Dairy Producers Co-Operative
Ltd. to Gay Lea Foods Co-Oper-
ative Ltd. 1 The new name en-
hances the marketing image and
is more descriptive of operat-
ions as Gay Lea moves further
into distribution of food products
T.E. Brady, general manager, an-
nounced a 22% increase in sales
volume to over 38 million and
net earnings of $311,000 com-
pared with $324,000 in 1971.
Mr. Brady said that out of earn-
ings the Directors had declared
a dividend of 80C per share on
common shares amounting to ap-
proximately 8%.
