ing upon the campus of any school

In a brief discussion about the
drug problem believed to exist
in the county schools, Chairman

there is some speculation among
parents as to whether or not the
recent drug film shown in the
high schools by the Huron County
Health Unit served any useful
purpose.
He , said that it is the opinion
of some parents that students
need something "to scare them".
They should see "the gory de-
tails of results of drug abuse
habits", Elliott felt.
James Coulter, superin-
tendent of program and planning,
said that the Art Linkletter film
recently in the high schools was
"really not very instructive".

he described as considered
superior to the Linkletterfilm.

The Brussels Lions Club have
decided to try once more and
sponsor "Polar Daize" hoping
that this year the weather will
be more favourable. It will
be held from February 23rd,
to Feb. 26th. There are many
who look forward to these fun
filled days and will be glad to
know, that in spite of the bad
weather that has plagued this ev-
ent, the Lions are going to gamble
on the weather and again attempt
"Polar Daize". So get ready
to participate, if not actively in
sports arranged, at least as spec-
tators.

There is a livelier 4thterest
being exhibited in the forthcomime
municipal election in Brussels
than has been in evidence here for
some years. This is a healthy
sign for any, community. With
several new -candidates coming
forward with nominations one
hears considerable discussion on
the qualifications, or otherwise,
of the candidates involved with
strong feelings expressed on both
sides of the question. What the
outcome will be will be decided
by the voters on election day,
December 4th. Until that day
every predictsion is mere specu-
lation.
