hold card'
Party
The Brussels Curling Club
held a card party in the Curling
room at the arena on Monday
night. Prize winners were: Mrs.
Glen Rathwell, ladies' high,
D. A. Rann, men's high: Low
lady, Mrs. Jack Kelly, low man
Bob Locking.
This was the first event in
the curling season which opens
Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Halloween Dance
Grade eights held a dance at
the school on Friday Oct. 27. The
people kind of liked it, but they
have been to better dances. Sp,
ecial thanks to Mr. and Mrs.
Fischer and. Mr. Prior.
Grade '7 - Assembly
The Grade 7 assembly was
held Wed., Nov. 1, The Grade
7 presented a few skits since
there was only a short amount
of time. After the assembly
Mr. Scott showed a film. It
was very enjoyable.
SPORTS
New Equipment
The Brussels School got new
playground equipment. There
are two swings, one set of rings,
• a see-saw, a pole to climb on
and a swing bar. The pupils
enjoy this equipment and every
recess You usually find quite
a few children there,
CROSS COUNTRY
Tuesday, October 31st? 1,972
the cross-country run took Place
near LondesiXorO. Our star run-
ners competed against ten other
schools in this area. The top
runners for our ,school were -
girls; Carol Wheeler, Dianne St-
ephenson, Mary Lynne Caridff,
and Judy Adams. Boys; Ken
Cousins, Scott Wheeler, Keith
McLean and. Bill King.
Scott Wheeler was the only
runner from our school to come
in first place.
SOC cgR Boys The boy's in-
termural soccergas won by Jamie
Jutzi's team The Demons. They
put out Dave Stephenson's team,
the Super F -s. Other teams
involved w..J..e Roger Kufski's
team, the. Morris Mutts, Danny
White's team, the. Dusters and
Paul Gowing's team, the Blue-
vale Bombers.
GIRLS - There are two girls
teams that can't quit tyingsoccer
games. Judy Adam's team,
Judy's Jokers and Rhonda Kef-
fer's team, Rhonda's Rompers
are paving a hard time deciding
who will go on to play Linda
Macha.n's team, Mac's Monkeys.
The Jokers and HOrePers have
tied eight times. Other teams
involved are the. Hot Shots and
Johnston's Waxers. Late Flash;
The Rompers finally won 1-0.
They go on to play Mac's Mon-
keys in the finals,
