Elijah Chapman of Brussels
passed' away in Wingham and
District Hospital on Saturday,
October 21st after a lengthy
period of failing health. He
was in his 88th year. He had
lived alone and cared for his
home until confined to hospital.
Born in Newbridge, Ontario
he was the son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Wm. Chapman.Having
lived in the New Hamburg area
and in Bright, • he retired to
Brussels in 1959 and had since
resided here. He was a member
of. St. John's Anglican Church.
He ,is survived by one son,
Stanley Chapman, of B.C., and
three grandchildren; two sisters,
Mrs. J. W. •(Sarah) Fischer and
Mrs. George (May) Chidlow of
Brussels, and one brother,Harolsi
of Kitchener.
He was predeceased by his
wife, the former Eva Daniels,
seventeen years ago, three sis-
ters, Mrs. Wm. (Maryann) Ham-
ilton of Listowel, Mrs. George
(Rosetta) Topham of Newbridge,
Mrs. Arthur (Margaret) Dawson
of Leamington; and three
brothers, " Arthur of Gorrie,
Nathan of Brussels and Wesley
of New Hamburg.

Funeral Home, Brussels, until
Tuesday, October 24th, when the
funeral service was held in St.
John's Anglican Church, Brus..
sels, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev.
Keith Stokes officiating. Burial
took place in St. James Anglic-

Pallbearers were: Stanley
Fischer, Gordon Chapman, Clar-
ence Hamilton, Bernard Thomas,
Gerry Gray, and Harper Wood.
