News of Huronview
The Huronview women's Auxilary met in the craft-
room on Monday afternoon to finalize plans for the annual
bazaar which is to be held on Wednesday November 8th.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Finlay of Goderich, Wilfred Jer-
vis, Clinton along with Norman Speir and Jerry Collins
provided the music for Monday afternoon's old tyme music
and dancing session. Mrs. Earl Allen accompanied at
the piano for a sing song of old favourites and singing of
Happy Birthday for David Elliott and Mrs. Adeline Car-
roll. A group of lady volunteers from Goderich who
help with the residents and the program on the first
and third Mondays were on hand and along with the mus-
icians made the afternoon's activities quite successful.
Thirty residents having September birthdays were hon-
oured at a party on Wednesday afternoon sponsored by
the Belgrave Women's Institute. The celebrants along
with 100 residents and guests enjoyed a variety pro-
gram with Rev. John Roberts as master of ceremonies.
There were vocal numbers by a Junior Claorus: Ruth
Higgins, Alison Coultes, Donna Higgins, Debbie Hopper,
Sarah Lougheed, Veronica Bakelaar, Katherine Procter,
Paul Coultes, and a ladies quartet : Mrs. Geo. Prc,ter,
Mrs. Stanley Hopper, Mrs. Wm. and Glen Coultes. Vocal
Solos by Geo. Procter and John Roberts, readings by
Mrs. Les Bolt and Mrs. Stabley Cook.
Following the program gifts were presented and re-
freshments served.
Mrs. Lamb thanked the Women's Institute on behalf
of the residents.
The Rythm Band from Goderich Psychiatric Hosp-
ital directed by Gordon Harrison provided the enter-
tainment for Family Night. Several of the group play-
ed instrumentals , gave impersonations and sang solos.

Crystal Palace looks bare in-
deed. There is no good reason
why all the excellent cooks and
needleworkers of this community
could not be winners in the
various classes. Come on ladies
and make this a real competitive
year.

Brussels "Polar Daize" must
be a popular Fun-Day with out-
siders. Ian McDonald informed
us recently that he has already
received inquiries for reservat-
ions, from distant centres, for the
date on which that event takes
place.

try would create jobs. He would
like something to develop in this
area so that there would be job
opportunities for all people.
Mr. Thomas concluded his
address with the statement that
Liberals are better organized
for this election. "If we con-
tinue to show this enthusiasm,
we'll have a strong Liberal voice
in this area", he said.
A question and answer period
followed the addresses.
Entertainment during the
evening was provided by The
Young Four from Clifford --
Debbie Lou Creighton, Judith
Anne Murray, Bruce Dickert and
Mark Auger, who sang a number
of contempory songs. '
Calvin Krauter of Brussels
was chairman for the meeting.
Reeve Douglas McNeil of Col-
borne Township welcomed the
guests.
Recent investigations were
carried out by the OPP of the
Wingham detachment include:
Four investigations under the
Liquor Control Act with four
persons charged.
Fifteen charges under the
Highway Traffic Act with twelve
warnings issued.
Twenty - three investigations
under the Criminal Code with
seven charges laid.
On September 15, Robert M.
McLelland of Walkerton was fat-
ally injured in a two-car accident
on Highway #86 at the Junction
of Huron Road #12 in which
Ronald W. Walken of wingham
also received injuries. Dama-
ges were estimated at $1800.
On September 17, Donald K.
Murray of Goderich, and Joseph
L. Phelan of R.R.#2, Blyth, were
involved 'in a motor vehicle ac-
cident on County Road 25, west
of Highway #4. No one was
injured. Damages were estim-
ated at $350.00.

ham, were involved in a two-car
