BY HELEN ALLEN
HE NEEDS LOVE
Even the loss of two front teeth hasn't spoiled Martin's good
looks. Unlike some children who hate to let the gap show,
Martin seems proud of it as his wide smile suggests. Maybe
he realizes losing teeth is a sign of growing up.
Martin is six, an appealing child of English, Scottish, Irish
and French-Canadian descent. He is slightly built with wide-
set blue eyes, light brown hair and fair skin. His only health
problem is an allergy to penicillin.
Outgoing Martin craves affection. He is very sensitive to the
feelings of the people in his life - he knows if they are happy or
sad and especially how they feel towards him, even if those
feelings are not put into words. He is responsive to warmth and
gentleness.
Martin is an active youngster who likes riding hIsbicycle and
skating. He loves animals, especially elephants, and he looks for
all the animal programs on television. He enjoys picture books
music and Disney movies. Martin is in Grade one and is not
expected to excel academically.
This youngster has suffered a number of rejections in his
short life so he needs the warmth and assurance that he is
wanted and loved. He should be the youngest in a family where
the parents are reldxed, understanding and involved.
To inquire about adopting Martin, please write to Today's
Child, Box 888, Station K, Toronto. For general adoption in-
formation, ask your Children's Aid Society.

A lntter from Mrs. Lillian
Dickson gave news other mission
work among the people of For-
mosa. It was decided to send
money, which was a gift to the
group, from. a Toronto friend, to
Mrs. Dickson to be used in her
work. Since the recognition and
admittance of Mainland. China, to
the United Nations, free shipping
of parcels and supplies to the-
missionaries on the island of
Formosa, by United States
vessels has been stopped thus
cutting down a Pod source of
supply which was appreciated
for many years and the lack of
which means, hardship, in their
work.
Verses of Scripture from
Exodus 4 and 14 were read by
Mrs. Wm. Smith and Mrs. Mair
giving the meditation, followed
with prayer by Mrs. Turvey.
Mrs. Steiss read a paper
prepared by Mrs. J. S. Arm-
strong from the Study Book on
Africa, with information as to
education, industry, health and
employment problems. Mrs.
Steiss also told of things learned
from an interview she had with
a schoolteacher, who is home on
furlough from Nigeria.
Mrs. Wm. King Sr. pleased
her listeners with a selection on
the piano.
