Couples mark
anniversaries
Mr. and Mrs. Mac McIntosh
and Mr. and Mrs. Murray Huether
were honored at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Charlie Lake, Grey
Township on Saturday evening
on the occasion of their silver
wedding anniversaries. About
40 Grey Township friends attend-
ed.
Mr. and Mrs. McIntosh re-
ceived a two-tier tray and cup
and saucer; Mr. and Mrs. Hue-
ther a cream, sugar and tray set
and a cup and saucer; all white
china with silver trim.
Earlier, members of the
bride's and McIntosh families
had honored Mr. and Mrs. Mc-
Intosh at a family dinner in the
Listowel United Church. They
were presented with gifts app-
ropriate to the occasion.
The McDonald and Huether
families surprised Mr. and Mrs.
Huether at their home on Aug-
ust 16th and presented them with
a fold over console extension
table.
On the day of the anniver-
sary, Aug. 23, Mr. and Mrs.
McIntosh, Bruce, Bonnie, Hea-
ther and Barry and Mr. and Mrs.
Huether, Brian, Dianne, David,
Joyce, Joan and Sandra enjoyed
dinner at the Blue Barn at Lis-
towel.

Miss McClure is in reason-
ably good health. She is able
to read her .newspaper without
the aid of glasses.

Miss McClure said, "They are
a hundred years old and they have
made thousands of pies."
Miss McClure was born Sept..
2, 1872, in McKillop Town-
ship on the 4th concession on
the farm now occupied by a
nephew, Nelson McClure. • Her
parents, the late George Mc-
Clure and Sarah Torrance, after
purchasing the farm from the
Canada Company, cleared the
land and raised their Wally of
five sons and six daughters. Miss
McClure is the only surviving
member.
Moving to Seaforth in 1912,

Morris Township Council
meeting last Wednesday agreed
with Clinton that an investigation
into the administration of Justice
in Huron was desirable. Council
endorsed a resolution adopted
earlier by Clinton council.
In other business council
- Imposed a special annual drain-
age rate under the Tile Drainage .
Act 1971.
- Arranged borrowing for the
Clark Bridge from Canadian Im-
perial Bank of Commerce, wing-
ham.
- Approved applications from
three ratepayers for tile drain
loans.
- Named Thos. Miller to look
after repairs to Nichol Drain.
- Instructed the road superinten-
dent and treasurer to submit a
necessary petition for interim
payment of subsidy under Public
Transportation and Highway Im-
provement Act.
- Agreed to advertise for con-
tractors to plough snow for1972-
73 season.
General accounts Of $10,851.52
and Road Accounts of $25,115.90
were approved for payment.

and other municipal officials.
Members of Court Constan-
tine Foresters Lodge of Kin-
burn held a luncheon for Miss
McClure and other residents of
Kilbarchan Saturday.
