Robinson) on their 25th wedding anniversary. Everyone gathered in, the arena and George Robinson read an addrOSS that he had coniPosed in poetry. Roy and Charlie Robinson presented the honour- ed Pests with a pair of table lamps. Mrs. Ron ,Kirkham (nee Sharon Coyne) presented her par ents with a. portrait of their children, along with other gifts* Rev. Jelin Roberts asked the blessing and everyone enjoyed a buffet dinner. Those attending from a dis- tance were Mr. and Mrs. Ron Kirkham and family, Michael and. Bonnie Coyne all of Windsor, Mary Giannandrea of Sarnia, Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Robinson and family of Sarnia, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Robinson and family of New Market, Mr. and Mrs. John Phillion and family of Tor- onto, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Weiss and family of Kitchener, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Robinson and fam- ily of London. Others were from, Goderich, Auburn and Wingham. mr. and Mrs. Robert Gordon celebrated their 6th wedding ann- iversary on this date. Joyce Taylor presented them with a gift. Owing to illness Mrs. Coyne's sister, Mrs. Joe Thompson of Goderich was unable to attend. Miss Marilyn Robertson was Queen of the Furrow at the Huron County Plowing Match, Bayfield on Tuesday, August 29. She com- peted against Miss Helen Brindley, R.R.6, Goderich and Miss Beth Passmore, R,R.5, Ex- eter. Betty Meurs led in the opening exercises and Karen Scott had charge of the roll call. Minutes were read by Connie Meurs and treasurer's report by Dianne Scott. Leaders The Women's Institute Hall in Belgrave was the scene of a happy occasion on Saturday when the family and friends of Mr. and Mrs. William Van Camp gathered to honour them on their 50th Wedding. Anniversary, Dinner was served to about 40 members of the family with JackVanCamp acting as master of ceremonies. The grace was said by Glen Van Camp and Clare Van Camp pro- posed a toast to his mother and dad. Ken Johnston proposed a toast to Glen and Verlaine Van f" 750 for the next meeting are games- Bonnie Walker, sing-son g- Dianne Scott, to help with wor- ship - Patsy Scott, clean up girls - Alison Roberts and Betty Meurs. Karen Scott helped with the worship service, Bonnie Walker and Patsy Scott collected the offering and Betty Meurs recited the offertory prayer. The senior and junior girls worked on handicraft badge. The sing- song was led by Bonnie Walker. Mr. and Mrs. William Gaw, Larry and Elwyn Brindley of Camp who will soon celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary. Mrs. Norma Davidson proposed a toast to their grandmother, Mrs. James Taylor who then favoured with 2 piano selections. Mr. Van Camp thanked the ladies of the Women's Institute for serv- ing dinner to which the President Mrs. Norman. Coultes replied. Other members of the family who spoke were Mrs. Donna John- ston of Victoria, B.C., Mrs. Kay Harris of Teeswater and Mrs. Harold Jardin of London. In the evening an Open House was held which was attended by nearly 200 friends and neigh- bours.. Presiding at the tea table were Miss Nora Van Camp of Belgrave, Miss Verna Johnston of Sarnia, Mrs. David Murray and Miss Lilla Taylor of Wingham. Two little granddaughters, Jo- hanna Van Camp and Sandra Harris looked after the guest Wok. Lunch was served by 8 other granddaughters, Mrs.Gary Blaek, edirs. Len Zevenbergen, Mts. Harold Jordin, Miss Debbie Johnston, Miss Mary Sue Dav- idson, .and Mrs. Ken Lovering. The tea table was centred with a 3 tier wedding cake, a floral arrangement of gold and bronze mums and gold candles. Guests were present from Toronto, Bra.mpton, London,Sare nia, Bowma.nville, Exeter, Guelph, Kitchener, MoOrefield, Clinton, Glencoe, Thunder Bay and surrounding district. The bride and grootn of 50 years received marry cards, fl- oral arrangements and gifts which expressed the congratul- ations and good wishes of their many friends. Dungannon had a motor trip up north and came home by Tober- mory. Mrs. Edna C hesney of London, recently visited with Mr. and Mrs. William Gaw. Michael Wales of London, Elwyn and Susan. Bindley of Dun- gannon spent a few days with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. William Gaw. Miss Lauretta McBurney of Calgary, Alberta returned home last Sunday after spending a months holidays with her brother Alex McBurney. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Camp- bell and Pamela visited with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hibberd on Thursday evening. Sandra and Lisa Campbell returned home with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Zur- brigg R.R.2, Clifford visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hibberd. Miss Margaret Kemp of Tor- onto spent the holiday weekend with Mr. and Mrs. George Michie. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Proctor attended their cousin's funeral on Sunday, Mrs. Cecil Rolph of Mitchell. Completion of installing storm sewers and the re-sur- facing of No. 4 Highway has added a new touch to the main street in the village. David Beecroft of St. Jacob's spent Sunday with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beecraft. Mr. and Mrs. David Wilson of New Westminster, B,C. spent last week with their cousin Mrs. Jesse Wheeler. Mr. and Mrs, Roy Thompson of New Brunswick, New Jersey, vialaed this past week with Mrs. Jesse Wheeler. Miss Janey Beecroft return- ed to her teaching position in Londen on Me- Mr. acid Mrs. William Kelly of Seaforth visited on Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Vin- cent. Mrs, Grace Rodger of Strat- ford and Mrs. Cora Ballantyne of St. Paul's visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Vin- cent. Saturday evening visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Vincent were Mr. and Mrs. Victor Err- ington of Auburn. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Inrig of Hamilton visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Taylor. Miss Mary Anne Wheeler is entering Fanshawe College, Lon- don and commences studies on Behavioural Sciences. Cameron of Lucknow accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Mason Robinson last week end and attended the Cameron - Motley wedding at Belleville on Saturday. On Sunday they visit- ed with Mr. Cameroa's sister Mrs. Walter Forbes of Kingston. Joanne aid Jeniffer Rock re- turned to their home near Moak- ton after a 2 meeth holiday with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Rhin. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Rinn and John were Sunday 'visitors with relatives in Mitchell, Seaforth, Monkton and Walton. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Taylor and John o f Sarnia spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Taylor. Mrs. Ron McLeod, Ana, Mary, and. Bobbie of Etobicoke spent Labor Day weekend with her mother Mrs, Nelson Higgins. Mr. and Mrs. Lortle Jamieson and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hanna spent the holiday weekend visit- ing in Michigan. On the way home they visited with Clar- ence nephew Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hanna of Lapeer, Mich- igan.
