Marie Flynn accompanied the Triiironyiew Orchestra for
the old tyme music .session and led the sing song along
with ypiunteere, Plarlys, Pale and Donna rlynn.
The 'McQuaid family of Seaforth -provided the variety
program for Thursday Family pligh4Mr, and Mrs.
wtlireo McQuaid, Mary Catherine, Norman, Bernard,.
AlaYniS,. Paul, Anne matte, and Madonna who appeared
on the Big Al. show last Sunday play old time faVourites
and western music on a variety of instruments. Mary
Catherine and Anne Marie were not able to, be on Thum-
day show owing to illness and,were replaced by Mary Ann
Segeren ' as announcer and. Verne Samyer step dancer....
Wilson •HaWkIns, a friend of the family thanked the en-
tertainers on behalf of the residents.
Several families of the residents took advantage of the
fine weather last week and had a picnic 'with their rel-,
atives at the lawn tables.

Mr. and Mrs. Neil McGavin
and family spent a week ago
St. Thomas spent the week end
with Mr. and Mrs. David wat-
son and attended the funeral of
the latters brother Mr. Robt.
Watson of Londesboro.
SAMUEL WILSON BARR
Samuel Wilson Barr of 1045
Birchmount Rd., Toronto, a
former resident of Brussels,
passed away in Riverdale Hosp-
ital, Toronto, on Friday, Aug-
ust 25th in his 69th year.
Born in Morris Township,
he was the son of the late Peter
and Atilla Barr. He received
his education in Morris Town-
ship. In 1943, in Toronto, he
was married to the former Mary
Hodges Mann. He had been an
employee of Continental Can
where he received his 25 year
recognition. In later years he
was a paper finisher. He was
a member of the Presbyterian
Church.
Surviving are his wife: two
stepdaughters, Mrs. Stuart (El-
eanor) Stevenson of Grey Town-
ship and Mrs . Bruce (lorna)
Cummins of Toronto and one
brother, Jack Barr of Tillson-
burg.
Funeral service was held
from the M.L. Watts Funeral
Hoem, Brussels at 2;00 p.m.
on Tuesday, August 29th. Rev.
L. E. LeDrew officiated. Bur-
ial was in Harvey Cemetery,
Logan Township.
Pallbearers were Stuart
Stevenson, Fred Stevenson, Tom
Stevenson, Bruce Cummins,
Peter Cummins, and Robbie
Cummins.
Flower Bearers were Sharon
Stevenson, Ann Lee Stevenson
and Arla Cummins.
MRS. ALVIA LIT'T'LE
Mrs. Alvia Little of Brussels
died in WIngharn Hospital on
August 31, She was 83.
Born in Toronto she was mar-
ried January 12, 1953 to Frank H.
Little of Listowel. The former
Alvia Dake, she had been prede-
ceased by her first husband Fred
Sinclair in 1956.
She is survived by her
husband, a son Fred Sinclair,

Palm Springs, Calif., a grand-
child

ren. She was a member of St.
John's Anglican. Church and
funeral services were conclude
by her minister. Rev. Keith
Stokes from the M.L.,Watts Fun-
eral Home, Brussels on Satur-
day.
Interment followed in Brus-
sels Cemetery when, pallbearers
were: Gee. McCutcheon, Glenn
Smith, Ross Nichol, Rae Craw-
ford, Graham Sholdice, Jim
Flower Bearers were Steven and
Rick Sholdice.
MRS. JAMES SPWEY
The death occurred inClinton
Public Hospital on August 30 of
Mrs. James Spivey. She was 69.
Born in Ethel, she was the
former Lilian Alberta Gay San-
ders, daughter of the late Mr.
and. Mrs. Wm. E. Sanders.
Educated in Ethel, she was
married to James Spivey at Ethel
in 1926. She was predeceased
by her husband in 1966. She is
survived by sons, John of
Ingersoll, Wilfred of Point Ed-
ward and. James at home and by
eight grandchildren.
A member of Brussels United
Church, funeral services were
held by her minister Rev. E. Le-
Drew on Saturday from the M. L.
Watts Funeral Home. Interment
followed in M t. Pleasant Ceme-
tery, Ethel when pallbearers
were: Hielke Roetcisoender, Jack
Kelly, Bill Craig, C larence John-
ston, Ernest Noble, Allan Pease.
Flower Bearers were Brian,
Murray, Arnold and Paul Spivey.
