It was a Day Blooming cactus. which flower infrequently and then only for 24 hours. The cactus had two lovely flowers, on long, slender stems which fell with the weight of the blooms, on opposite sides of the cactus. The numerous delicate petals clustered to form a rather bell-shaped white flower that had a distinctive fragrance of its own. Benmiller a 4 a Correspondent, Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse A wagon train made up of 10 horses, 2 wagons, 1 buggy and 13 yonng people from Bel- grave and Wingharn area, chap- eroned by Donna Malick and Mac Andersen left Wingham last week for a 60 mile camping trip. The first night was spent at Dungannon then they travelled to Benmiller for a 2 night stay at the Falls Reserve Camping Grounds. On their return triPtheY stay- ed at the camping grounds at Auburn. The other campers were Mac's five brothers and sisters, Cameron,Duncan, Jul- aine, Janice and ida Anderson, Karen and Katherine Oke, Bar- bara Moore, Beigrave, Joanne Craskill, Carol Hastings, and Donna Currie, Wingham, The Anderson young people are the family of Mr. and Mrs, Ross C. Anderson who live west of Bel- grave. NEIGHBOURHOOD PICNIC Belgra.ve annual neighbour- Owing to my Eyesight, I have had to sell my INSURANCE BUSINESS to Mr. Jim Cardiff of Brussels I wish to, thank all the people who had insurance with me during the past years and 'hope you r comp time with Mr. Cardiff, a local boy with his 'home in Brussels. Junior Auxiliary , The Belgrave Junior Auxil- iary met on Saturday morning in the Orange Hall with 10 girls present with Cindy Campbell leading in the games. April McBurney led in the opening exercises. Audrey Scott had charge of the roll call. Minutes were read by Connie Meurs and the treasurer's report by Dianne Scott. Leaders for the next meeting are Games - Bonnie Walker, Sing-song - Dianne Scott, to help with worship service - Betty Meurs, clean-up girls - Patsy Scott and Cindy Campbell. Patsy Scott helped with the worship service. Judy Car- michael and Cindy Campbell col- lected the offering and Kelly Lougheed recited the offertory prayer. The workshop for the day proceeded with the senior girls working on their special study badge and the junior girls work- ed on their stripe work. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Armi- tage of Arva, Mrs. Eugene Armi- tage of Port Stanley spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Jack McBurney. Miss Cindy Staratt of Scar- boro on a rural and urban ex- change visited with Brenda Neth- ery last week. Brenda returned on Tuesday with Cindy to visit at her home. Mrs. Peter Chandler, Mrs. Alex Robertson, Mrs. William Coultes Mrs. James Hunter, Mrs. Richard Moore and Mrs. Clarke. Johnston attended the 4-H training school held in Wingham. Bowman of Mit- chell, was a Sunday visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Rhin and John. Miss Margaret Nicholson of Lenden spent a few days last week with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Garver Nicholson.
