Those who viewed activities
of the World Estonian Festival in
Toronto on T.V, on Sunday surely
could not help being impressed
by the tremendous gathering of
these people from wide-flung
countries of the world. While
the entertainment, music, folk-
dancing, graceful acrobatic per-
formances, were all delightful,
the impression left was the fact
that these scattered people have
valued and retained over the
years, their Estonian culture and
heritage. They have kept alive
the hope and great desire that
their country will, some day,
once again be free. Even the
young seemed to be inspired
with this. The deep love for
their homeland, while being good
citizens of whatever country they
now live in, was revealed during
the stirring rendition of the Es-
tonian National Anthem when
there were those who could be
seen struggling to control their
emotions and tears. What a
lesson it should teach us in
valueing our freedom from tyran-
ny.
