An afternoon of gameS and Contests were enjeyed by young and old under the supervision of the sports committee Mr, and Mrs. James Paton. Prizes were given for the oldest man present Mr. Fred Cook, and the, " Oldest lady, Mrs. Fred. Cook, Couple with 25th wedding anniver- sary this year - Mr. and Mrs. Russ Cook; coming tbefarthest, Miss Norma Nethery of Hamilton, the lucky plate - Dave Kirby. The president - James Walsh held an election of officers for next year as follows: president - Arnold. Cook; Vice President Ernie Crawford; Sec- retary-Treasurer - Mrs. Russ Cook; Sports - Mr. and Mrs. Graham Cook; Lunch C ommittee- Mr. and Mrs. Norman Cook and Mr. and. Mrs. Charlie Cook. It was decided to hold next year's reunion the third Sunday in July at the same place. Those attending came from Hamilton, Glamis, Ripley, Blyth, Goderich, Mossley, Kitchener, 13luevale, Auburn, Belgrave and surround- ing district. Junior Auxiliary The Belgrave. Junior Auxiliary held their 15th meeting in the Orange Hall on Saturday morning. The meeting opened with games led by Bonnie Walker. The president, April McBurney, led in the opening exercises. Sheila Anderson had charge of the rol 1 call. Minutes were read by Bonnie Walker and the treasurer's report was given by Dianne Scott. Leaders for the next meeting are:Games - Candy Campbell; Sing-song - Lisa Thompson; To help with worship - Dianne Scott; Clean-up girl - Sheila Anderson. Patsy Scott' helped with the worship service. Bonnie Walker and Karen Scott collected the offering and April, McBurney recited the 'offertory prayer. Pamela Shaw of London was. a visitor. A sympathy card was sent to Miss Mary IsobelNethery in the loss of her uncle Gilbert Nethery. The older girls worked on Books of the Bible and the. Junior girls worked on their second stripe which is learning to, knit and embroidery. WI meets "What a Friend we Have In Jesus", opened the meeting of the Afternoon Unit of the U.C.W. held in the Sunday School room with thirteen members in atten- dance. Mrs. Harold Procter led the worship service using a theme "What is Christ to You?" Jesus the friend, Jesus the Master, Jesus the teacher, Who is this Jesus of Nazareth? "He is Jesus the Christ, son of God". Mrs. Procter followed with prayer and then hymn "Take Time to be Holy" was sung. The August meeting will be cancelled. Mrs. Wheeler conducted a Bible Study as was done at the college comparing those who are wonderful with those who are wonder-empty. Members read Passages of Scripture to show the wonder-empty to be doubtful, selfish, hateful, self centred, jealous, rigid, irresponsib)e, etc. and the wonderful or alive per son to be sincere, patient, sympa- thetic, loving, kindly, humble, forgiving, etc. Mrs. Scot t thanked the speaker and spoke for all present with the comment that Mrs. Wheeler's report made us rea- lize we had missed a glorious week end of inspirational study and leadership. Mrs. Stanley Cook continued the Bible study as outlined by Professor William Barclay in the Observer. The gospel of John the Mind of God in human form was the July study, made very interesting by Mrs. Cook. Mrs. Earl Anderson thanked all who took part. Mrs. J. B. Townend of Niagara Falls, who is holidaying at her cottage at PointClarke, is spend- ing a few days with Mrs. Herb Wheeler. Donelda and Danny Lamont returned home onSaturday after- noon after holidaying with their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McCrea'of Blyth who were on vacation the past two weeks at a cottage at Riley Lake near Orillia. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Mc- Dowell and Heather of Cookstown visited on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cook. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Bolt accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Appleby on a tour of Manitoulin Island and Northern Ontario last week. Enroute they had a n enjoyable visit with Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Appleby and family of Ora Station. Miss Linda Bushell of Kinloss spent a few days last week with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Pletch, Mr. and Mrs. WilliamSteVen- son, Steven, Scott and Lissa at- tended the wedding pf his sister, Ruth Stevenson to Terry Salens at TIllsonburg in First Baptist Church on Friday evening. Mrs. Malcolm McCommon and Miss Ruth Lockridge visited on Monday with their cousins; Mr.. and Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Scott, Brian and David of Barrie visited last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Scott. Miss Janice Coultes returned home on Tuesday after spending a week at the home of Miss Debra Cranston of Weston. This was her part of the Urban-Rural exchange visits, Miss Lori. Thompson, Marni Walsh and Joanne Coultes returned home Sunday after spending a week at Camp Mene- setung, Goderich. Misses Cathy Bakelaar, Patti Shiell and Karen Coultes are attending Camp Menesetung, Goderich this week., Walter Scott and Robert Hib- erd visited Amberley R. B. P. 132 recently and assisted in ex- emplifying the Apron and. Royal Blue degree. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Niell, Mrs. Ira Niell and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Schiefele, Wingham visi- ted on Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hibberd. Miss Norma Nethery of Hamilton is visiting with her aunt, Mrs. Telford Cook and also visiting among other relatives in the area. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Alan Campbell and their infant son, Shawn, in winning the baby contest in connection with Wingham Lions and Merchants Crazy Days in Wingham last week. Mr. and Mrs. Don Walker and Shelley of Schomberg spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Pletch. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rib- berd, Thomas McInnis of Gorrie, James, Elva and Ethna Foster of Fordwich attended the 12th July celebration in Arthur on Satur- day. The 4 - H "Hoppin Bunny Business" rabbit club which has members from the Blyth, Ethel, Walton, Auburn, Brussels, Clin- ton and 13elgrave areas met at Bill Boneshansker's R. R. #1, Ethel. The club, which is the second in Huron County, dis- cussed feeds and feeding and the classes and categories in which rabbits could be shown. It was decided that the next meeting would be at Roy Hanna's R.R.#2 Auburn providing a spec- ial guest invited to speak on rabbit diseases is able to be present.
