The late Mrs. Wrn. Clouse was the first Chaplain of the Lodge. When Morning Star Lodge was first instituted it was a part of Stratford District. However in 1946 a Lodge was instituted in Listowel followed by two more, one in Atwood and one in Monk- ton. During the year Mrs. Corrie Dunbar was D.D.P. Later two more were added to the District at Exeter andHensall, This made too many Lodges for one D.D.P. so a new District was formed known as Huron District No. 23 comprised of six Lodges includ- ing Exeter, Hensall, Goderich, Clinton, Seaforth and Brussels. The first year in which the Lodge was active was during the depression and members had many opportunities for benevo- lent work, helping those within their own membership as well as others. In 194'7 a C.P. & T. committee was formed consisting of mem- bers from both the I.O.O.F. and Rebekah Lodge.
