The twe classes attended school
on alternate days, throughout the
year, but were brought together
far the first time on Wednesday.
Many parents were present as
spectators during the assembly.

is a lovely thing, cupped like a
tulip, with green shiny leaves. It
is pale yellow with green and
orange around the petals. A beaut-
iful flower, which must be seen
to be appreciated.

The. Centennial gets underway
tonight (Thursday) with a ball
game at 7 p.m., the unveiling of
the school plaque at 7:30 p.m.
followed by the Open Air Concert
at the school which will present
a variety of talent, both local
and from other centres. It in-
cludes the Good Intentions (sing-
ers); Highland dancing by Susan
Langlois and Carol Wheeler;
soloist, Linda Wilson; Bagpipes,
Gwen Bernard; Duet, The Jing-
les; Soloist, Mrs. I. Campbell;
Silver Strings. Orchestra; Ac-
cordion, Charlie; Soloist, Cathy
McGavin; Step Dancing, Young
Centennial Stompers; Barber-
shop Quarter, Two Town Four;
Band, Majestic Stompers; Square
dancing; Step Dancing, Brussels
Steppers. This will be followed
by Beard Contest judging. The
bevy of lovely young ladies com-
peting in the Centennial Queen
contest will be on display.

Townfolks have been strug-
gling desperately this week to
complete renovations and beaut-
ification projects to have our
village present a bright appear-
ance, and make it truly “The
Most Beautiful Village in Ont-
ario" for our host of guests
expected for our birthday party.
Some residents even extended
their working hours into Sunday
to achieve this.
