In the first game the Highlanders and the Clippers played to a 2 9 - 20 tin, but the Clippers took the game by default when, the $cotchmeh could only muster seven loyal players.How- ever, in the game that was played, the two opposing pitchers were locked in a hitters duel with Dandy Don Laurie allowing twenty runs on seventeen hits for the Highlanders, and Muzzy Handlebar Lowe plus. Brian Lob- ban Rutledge gave up the same number of runs with nineteen hits. The big inning for both clubs was the fifth, when the Clippers scored nine runs and the Skin flints scored six. In the second game, the Dolphins and the Buccaneers put on a fine display of good baseball, with the Pirates turning out the victorious winners, by a score of 18 - 16. In this game too, there was a disasterous inning, where the Buds scored eight runs and the Fishies trundeled in with five. One of the Centennial Queen contestants was on hand, acting as score-keeper, who gave the seasoned pros added incentive which produced miraculous re- sults. At a meeting Thursday the executive made a rule amend- ment which allows a team to start a game with just seven players. Greg Wilson, Dale Pletch and Jack McCutcheon were added to the rosters of the Highlanders, Clippers and Buccaneers respectively. With the arrival of sweaters the individual clubs will now be easily identified by their dis- tinctive, dazzling colours.
