Grand Lodge held in the Royal York Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Barry Cudmore of Manor, Sask. are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce McCall. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Johnston of Clinton were honoured rec- ently on the occasion of their 35th wedding anniversary at the home of their daughter and son- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thomp- son of Paris. Following dinner at the White Horse Inn they were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thompson. It also was a special occasion for Mrs. Johnston' s mother, Mrs. Brown, who celebrated her 88th birthday. Mrs. George Michie, RR 5, Brussels has a novelty among her flowers. A beautiful red dahlia which was in full bloom last week is most unusual so early in the season. About to plant dahlias that had been stored in the basement during the winter months, she found one was already a tall sturdy plant with healthy buds. Planted outdoors, in a relatively shady sport, it suffered no ill effects and rapidly matured into flower. Roy Charlton of Bradford, who died following a recent car crash, was the husband of Marion Lake, a former Brussels resi- dent. Mr. Charlton, who was a policeman, was 44 years of age.
