received his D.V.M. degree at convocation exercises held at
War Memorial Hall, University of Guelph.. He is 'a graduate of
the F. E. Madill Secondary School in Wingham. Following
convocation, the graduation and awards banquet was held at
the Holiday Inn, Hespeler, where Dr. Galbraith received the
W.J.R.Fowler award for equine medicine and surgery.
Mrs. Kathryn E. Galbraith received her Bachelor of Applied
Science degree, majoring in early childhood education, at
convocation exercises the following day at the University of
Guelph. Mrs. Galbraith is a 'graduate of Paris Secondary
School. Following her graduation a family dinner was held
at the Amber Cupola, Guelph, and a reception was held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Don McLaren, Paris. Guests were
present from Wingham, London and Paris.
Dr. and Mrs. Galbraith are now residing in Wheatley.
Dr. Galbraith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Galbraith,
former Brussels residents.

the bride of Donald Wayne
Hastings on June 3rd, 1972.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Lowe,
Brussels, Ontario and the
groom's parents are Mr. and
Mrs.. Ross Hastings, Wingham,
Ontario. The Rev. McCarroll
was clergyman for the Candle-
light Ceremony.
Mr. Crawford Douglas, Wing-
ham, Ontario, Organist, played
several favourite songs, ((Hand
in Hand", ((Falling in Love",
((Trumpet Tunes" and ((Ayres".
Given. in marriage by her
father, the bride was lovely in a
floor-length Empire gown of
polyester satin and lace. A
graceful train fell from the waist
of her gown. pink roses and
white gardenias held her sweep-
ing veil edged in pink lace. She
carried a bouquet ,of .matching
roses and gardenias; lily of the
valley with white satin ribbons.
Mrs. Linda Hyde, Owen Sound,
Ontario, sister of the bride, was
maid of honor and Mrs. Nancy
Proctor, London, Ontario, was
bridesmaid. They wore identical
gowns of pink polyester crepe
and pink and white voile, puffed
sleeves, and matching chokers.
A soft train was held at the
waist with a pink bow. Large
pink hats and pink umbrellas
trimmed with white lace accented
their attire.
Wayne Hunter of London,
Ontario was best man, while
ushering were Douglas Lowe,
Niagara Falls, brother of the
bride, and Murray Proctor and
Carmon McBurney, London, Ont.

In the twilight hour of Friday,
May 26, 1972 in St. Ambrose
Church,Brussels,Ontario, Emma
Juliana, youngest daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. B. Grobbink, Walton
and Ted Vander Wauden, son of
Mr. and Mrs. B. Vander Wauden,
Holland, were united in marriage.
Miss Rosemary Vanden Hengel
was soloist accompanied on the
organ by Jane Schocnierwoerd.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride was beautiful
in a white floor-length peasant
style gown of cotton Swiss
lace, trimmed with white lace
and orange velvet ribbon. She
wore a Cathedral length veil
with matching headpiece and
carried a bouquet of orange tea
roses and white shasta daisies.
Matron of honor, Marianna
Ryan, Walton, sister of the bride
and bridesmaid, Emily Denys,
London, were dressed in identi-
cal peasant styled gowns of
orange gingham . They wore
wide brimmed hats and carried
bouquets of orange , white, and
yellow daisies and carnations.
The three gowns were made by the
bride and her bridesmaid.
Best man was Peter Baer,
Forest, friend of the groom,
while Harry Grobbink, brother of
the bride, ushered the guests.
Following a reception at
Family Paradise Park, the couple
left for a trip to Northern Ontario.
Guests were present from
Holland, Toronto, Hamilton, Wal-
laceburg, London, Parkhill, Sea-
forth and Brussels.
The couple will reside in
London.

For a honeymoon trip the
bride wore a navy and white
figured silk crimp dress with
white accessories and a corsage
of sweetheart red roses.

Owen Sound, Ontario.

showers. At the home of Mrs.
Ralph Pearson by her daughter,
Mrs. Nancy Proctor at a luncheon
shower for their girl friends.
An office surprise shower at
London Life and friends and re-
latives gathered at the home of
Mrs. Mervyn Pipe where she
was presented with lovely gifts
and a pantry shower.
