Investigations carried out by
members of Wingham De-
tachment of the OPP to May 6
included:
Six investigations ,Inder the
Liquor Control Act with 7ier-
son s charged.
Ten charges lain under the
Highway Traffic Act with twelve
warnings issued.
Sixteen investigations under
the Criminal Code of Canada.
On Sunday, April 30, David
M. Hohnstein of Clifford was-
involved in a three-car collision
Plans are now being tinalized
for our Centennial. A giant paMde
is expected that will last for at
least two hours. There are five
classes for floats and others for
horses and riders, decorated bi-
cycles and clowns. This, with
several good bands, and a bevy
of pretty baton twirlers and other
participants, will undoubtedly
present an outstanding Centen-
nial Parade that no one will,
want to miss and will be long
remembered, by all who see it.

Brian Glennie of the Toronto
Maple Leafs, will be the special
guest speaker, with Paul Roach ;
scout With the Buffalo Sabres as
Master of Ceremonies, for the
Sports Dinner being sponsored
at the Arena by the Brussels
Minor Hockey AsSaciation on Sat-
urday, Jtine 3rd. The Occasion
promises to be an entertaining
event for our young hockey play-
ers and their guests. Tickets for
the evening are now on sale.

The Centennial Committee
are urging each group and org-

on Huron County Road 33, just
north of Huron County Road #29,
Wroxeter. Hohnstein's vehicle
was damaged to the estimated
amount of $1000.00 and a vehicle
owned by Donald Harpley of R.R.
#6, Mississauga, received dam-
ages estimated at$50C..00. There
were no injuries.
On Monday, May 1, a vehicle
owned by U.C.O., Belgrave, and
a vehicle owned by Kenneth J.
Pollard of R.R.41, Blyth, were
involved in an accident on Dinsley
Street in Blyth. Damages to both
vehicles was estimated at $200.
There were no injuries.
On Tuesday, May 2, Mahen-
dra. K. Jain of Wingham, was in-
volved in a single car accidenton
Highway #86 at the Junction of
Huron Road #12, Grey Township.
Damages to the Jain vehicle were
estimated at $400., and fence
posts owned by William Sander-
son, of R.R.#1, Bluevale, were
damaged as a result of the acci-
dent. There were no injuries.
Charges are pending.
On Friday, May, 5, Wendell
J. McCallum of R.R.741,Belgrave
was involved in a single car
accident on County Road #20,
1.1 miles west of Highway #
4. As a result of the accidenty
fence posts belonging to John
Carmichael of R.R.#1, Belgra,,rey
were damaged, and the McCallum
vehicle received damages in the
estimated amount of $25.00. No
one was Injured. Charges are
pending.
On Saturday, May 6, William
D. Gilkinson of Listowel, was
involved in a single car accident
on Highway #86, west of Moles-
worth. Damages td his vehicle
were estimated at $1200.00. NO
one was injured.
On Saturday, May 6, 1972,
Susan E. Gannett of Wingham,
was involved in a single car acci-
dent on CanceSsion B, Turnberry
Township, As a result of the
accident, a fence past owned by
Joseph Peters of R.R.#4, Wing-
ham was damaged, and damages
to the Gannet vehicle Were eStitn-
ated at $500.00. There were no
injuries.

Monday with all members present
and Reeve Wm. Elston presiding.
Jack Van Camp was present and
requested an extension of John
Street in Belgrave and some
drain repairs. Rae Hatherell and
F. Norwood from Thorne, Gunn,
Helliwell and Christensen, Aud-
itors were present to explain
the auditors' statement which
showed a deficit of $681. on the
1971 operations.

Grey sets
street light
assessment
Grey Council, at a May meet-
ing, agreed to be a special ben-
efiting municipality for the Upper
Middle Maitland Water Re-
sources Project of the Maitland
Valley Conservation Authority.
The council accepted the per-
centage cost distribution scheme
for the project as presented by
the Maitland Valley Conservation
Authority in April.
Lands and buildings, other
than residential, will be assessed
to a depth of 200 feet along the
frontage affected by the new
street lighting in Cranbrook.
Council decided. It also was
agreed that membership in the
amount of $10.00 be paid to the
Huron County Municipal Officers'
Association.
