We are glad to iuuaovuce that' we have all the clothing we need. Bedding, un- derwear, provisions, ;tars and- clover seed, :insure, tattle ware and money are imperatively needed. Our cash' receipts up to noon to -day are 8121..000. The donations have been generous and time- ly, but the needs are great. Tho gener- ,osity of the American people has inspired the sufferers in the burned re: -ion with new hope, and their first needs being supplied they are industriously engaged in building new homes. We will have 15,000 people to house and feed during` the approaching w•nter. Grateful . for the donations already made, I am com- pelled to ask you to continue systemati- cally in your several cities in this great work of chari.y. I can only renew the aasuancea that the cnn, ribu, ions rt,ceiv- ed will be faithfully used, and I am con- fident that this appeal for aid will not be in vain. E. C. CARLSTON, Mayor of Port Huron. Talking about medical terms, a reput- ed editor of a Chatham paper displays a 'vonderful knowledge in the following "Medical anxiety, u to the , President, had culminated in the fear, in which we own we shared, that peaemic symptoms uoight be followed by Lenca.cytliaonsia,so often • cuncemi:ant of diseases of the glandular system." The above is only equalled by a Bradford paper which in epcaking of an aa:ident which occurred tat a boy in that village recently, says :- "The laceration took place in the joint formed by tlae union of the metacarpal with the phalangeal bone. of the thumb, and the sante joint of the index fingers were laid" open and frightfully lacerated, os well ait its paltrier aspect as soon as its dorsal. The lad was doing extremely well at last account. -[Ex. \Iajsrlty Verdicts. An action involving a certain amount of money, in which lion. John O'Connor was defendant, was held in the oily last week.
