Wednesday evening.. Rev. Docken welcomed the audience and the prog'ra,m began with a Welcotne Recitation by Christine Achilles and Lori Smith, The Kindergarten and prim- ary Classes sang several songs- Little Rabbit Fou Fon, Jolly old St. Nicholas, Little Drummer Boy ' and Away in a Manger. The Kin- dergarten children taking part were Kathy Humphries, Christie Achilles, Jeffery McGavin, Dar-. lene Gulutzen, Timmy Fritz, Blaine Hackwell, Gary Godkin, Sandra Sholdice, Joy Anne Van Vliet, Donnie Hickson, Daryl Smith, Lori Smith and Kevin William son. The Primary children taking part were Patricia Hackwell, Jeannette Rock, John Huether, Elaine Dennis,Greg Humphries, Peter Benntt, Kevin Smith, Brian McGavin, Peggy Humph- ries, Jeanne McDonald, Bruce Godkin, Carl McCallum„ Paul Kirkby, Cathy McGavin, Neil Mit- chell, Ronnie Godkin, Danny Ach- illes and Murray Sholdice. Reci- tations followed by Jeffery Me- Gavin, Timrdy Fritz and Pat Hackwell; step-dancing by Peggy Dennis and Beth McNichol. The boys of the Kindergarten and Primary classes gave a Drill. The Primary Girls gave a reci- tation, Christmas Gifts. The Silver Strings, consist- ing of Linda Godkin, Beth Mc- Nichol, Ray McNichol and Faye Dalton played musical numbers. Laura Dennis gave a Recitation, Wonder on. The Intermediate Classes which included Steven Dennis, Ronald Smith, patty McDonald, Debbie Van Vliet, Brian Marks, Dianne Dennis, Susan Murray, Jane Leeming, Brian Smith, Peggy Dennts-and Joyce McCal- lum. sang songS. Nanci Bennett, Ruth Thamer, Pamela Hackwell, Janis Van Vliet, Carolyn McClure and Di- anne Godkin, the Junior Girls, did a Christmas Drill. The Int- ermediate Class acted a play Pumpkin Ville Christmas Con- cert, followed by a Recitation A Weighty Surprise. The Junior Boys Skit con- sisted of Jim McDonald, Bob Leeming. Terry Smith, Steven Huether, Doug Mitchell, Jeffery Hackwell and Dean Hackwell. Laura Dennis contributed piano solos, Silent Night and Away in a Manger. The Christmas meeting of the Walton W.I. was held in the Com- munity Hall A pot luck supper preceded the business with Mrs. Gerald Watson in charge. Mrs. W. H. Humphries read the minutes and treasurer's report followed by the correspondence. The card parties will begin on January 7th and again on January 21 with committees chosen. Mrs. Gerald Watson was chosen to go to Toronto on Feb- ruary 12 to attend the 75th Anniv- • ersary Party and banquet. An old fashioned school pro- gram was held with several members taking part including songs, dialogues, recitations, Musical numbers and readings, Mrs. W. H. Humphries read the Christmas Story and carols were sung with Mrs.Ray Huether at the piano. Mrs. Chas. Mathers of Blue- vale demonstrated gumdrop roses and Marshmallow daisy cookies. ,Santa arrived and distributed gifts from under the decorated Christmas tree when each Member of the Sunshine Sistert fdr the year was revealed. Mr. and Mrs: Ray Huether, Steven and John spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Watson. Web- ster, Clinton on Staturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Webster of Varna and Mr, and Mrs. Jack Holmes and family of Clinton also visited at the same home. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs." Tom Shortreed on Sunday were: Mr. and Mes.Mack Webster of Varna,Miss Emma Shortreed of Guelp will be home over the holidays. The Lost and Found Group, Mary Watson, Ruth Thamer, Carolyn McClure, Joyce McCal- lum, Beth McNichol and. Mary Searle sang a song, Christmas Dolls. Christmas Day visitors with Mrs. Lithe Scott, Alb and Bob Vodden of Clinton were Mr. and Mrs. George McCall and Bill, Walton and. Mr. Ernie Vodden of Woodham. Mr. and Mrs; W. H. Hum- phries and family spent Christ- mas Day in Teeswater when the McDonald s gathet ed in the hall for their Christmas Dinner. Christmas evening dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Holly Achilles and Ann were Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ach- illes and daughter of Fergus, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Taylor, Ricki Lynn and Brian, Mr. James Sills of Seaforth, Mr. and Mrs. Don Achilles, Danny, Christine and Wayne of Walton. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smalldon and son Jack of Fort Erie spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smalldon. Visiting dn. Christmas Day with Mr. and Mrs. Emmerson Mitchell, Gordon, Ross, Doug and Neil were Mr. and Mrs. Don Street, Julie and Steven .of Listowel, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Cuthill, and Mrs. Lizzie Storey of Seaforth, Mrs. Bessie Mit- chell, Miss Elizabeth Dickson, Misses Luella and Helen Mit- chell, and Jack Mitchell all of Brussels. Jane, Bob and John. Leeming spent a few days last week with their grandmether, Mrs. Maud Leeming. Mrs. W, C. Hackwell spent Christmas Day with Mr. and Mrs. John Mc Llwain and boys at Seaforth, then on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Reid Hackwell, Exeter. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Duncan and Jim. He attended the Univer- sity of Toronto to study for a Master of Architecture Degree in 1969. Mr. Hill Joined the new Huron County planning Department in August 1971. The Department, Goderich, is now preparing a detailed plan for the future development of Brussels. Other detailed plans being prepared are for Zurich, Exeter, Hensall and the Town- ships of Grey, Goderich and Howick. Mr. Hill commented that he was glad to be back in Huron County.
