The guest speaker Miss :Jessie McPherson; told of .her service for 21 years in a Women's Cor- rectional Institution at Portage La. Prairie, Manitoba. She describ- ed the prison itself, and gave a most enlightening view of the Women who had come to her throungh the years. She stressed the act that it was not the duty of the , prison to punish the girls„ but rather.,, to,,try to rehabilitate them and teach them to get along with other people in society.
