HUNTING TIPS
Already this fall, a man has
been killed by a shotgun blast
because he looked like a bird to
the hunter behind the trigger.
Before the current hunting season
ends it is probable that other vict-
ims will meet a similar fate be,
cause they resembled deer, moose.
rabbits or other game in the eyes
of the shooter.
At the present time in Ontario
it is not an offence to carry a
firearm and hunt while under the
influence of alcohol or drugs nor
is sufficiently good eyesight sti.
pulated criteria, for the issuance
of a gun license. The Government
of Ontario has undoubtedly given
outstanding leadership in hunter
safety training as substantiated
by the decreasing number of
accidents since this program be
came mandatory. However, it is
the opinion of the Ontario Safety
League that the number of un,
necessary "mistaken target" in-
cidents could be 'substantially re-
anced.if drunken hunters could
be charged and an eyesight test
became mandatory for the issuing
of licenses. It is obvious that
such impairment can be just as
dangerous While hunting as while
driving a motor vehicle.

Sympathy is two hearts pulling

Don't envy others you'll soon

Too critical of others and be with-

Don't do small, mean things,
you'll be shunned,
