Newlyweds Honored
A reception and dance for Mr.
and Mrs. Tom Stevenson (Beverley
McCall) was held. in the Oran-
brook Community Centre on Fri-
day evening, October 15. An
address was 'read by Don Fischer
and Murray Wake presented the
newlyweds with a gift of money.
Tom and 'Beverley both expressed
their thanks and dancing was en-
joyed to music provided by Ken
Scott's orchestra. Lunch was ser-
ved.

The fourth meeting of the Oran-
Dai:.y Belles was held at
the home of Mrs, Wm. Bremner.
The meeting was opened with the
4-IT pledge. The minutes were
read by Nancy Knight. Our covers
are to be gold colored duo tang
with black lettering. We are all
to think up a skit for Achieve-
ment Day for the next ;meeting.

ed us in the discussion of our
hand out sheets for meeting three
Milk and people, milk for every
age and income, dairy foods in
diets, dips for cbips, and whipped
toppings. Mrs. T?remner and Mary
Ellen Knight made and served
cheese crisps. Sharon Engel and
Karen Dilsworth made and serv-
ed tapioca pudding. The meeting
was closed with the pledge.
Fifth Meeting
The fifth meeting of the Oran-
brook.Dairy Belles was held at the
home of Cathy Morrow on Oct,
15 at ,930 a.m. The minutes were
read by Dianne Adamson. The
next meeting Will be held at the
home of Janet Veitch on Satur-
day, Oct. 22 at 6;30 am, We got

Reception Honors Newlyweds
A reception and dance was held
in the Walton Community Hall on
Friday evening for the recent
newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Shortreed, (nee Judy King). Prior
' to lunch the happy couple were
called to the platform when ..an

read by Larry Bolger,.and',Gerald
• Smith made the presentation, of

Mission Band
The Mission Band held their
October meeting in the basement
of the church on Sunday morning
with Doug Mitchell giving the Call
to Worship. A hymn was 'sung ac-
companied by Debbie Wey on
her guitar. A film "Bernarda"
was shown. It was on a little boy
in Africa. The treasurer's report
was given by Dianne Dennis and
Joyce McCallum. gave the sec-
retory's report. There were 29
in attendance. The special offer-
ing was taken for UNICEF. The
members are reminded to bring
white gift to be sent to the
Children's Aid Society in Goder-
ich for their next Meeting and the
mite boxes are to be brought to
the December meeting. Classes
were formed with the following
teachers: Mrs. • Merton , TInek-
Mrs. Wm. Roe, Mrs. ROsS
Bennett and Mrs. Mac Sholdice
assisted 'by Debbie Wey; The
meeting was closed with the Bene-
diction,
U.C.W. Unlit Meeting
The October meeting of the 8th
and 15th Unit was held at the
home of Mrs. .TimMcDonald, Mon-
day evening, October 11th. Mrs,
Ray Houston opened the meeting
with the "Ca„ to Worship" and
a hymn. Psalm 734 in the hymn-
tlry was read responsively. Mrs.
Houston read a Thanksgiving
poem f ollowed by prayer. The
scripture from Col., chp. 2: verses
12-17 was read by Mrs. Houston.
The Tpoic. "With Thanksgiv-
ing was giVen by Mrs. Jan van
Vliet Jr., who also led in prayer.
A hymn was read in unison and
Mrs. Houston offered prayer. Mrs.
Jim Smith conducted the business
The minutes were read by the
Secretary and the Roll Call was
answered by 11 members and
11,ei,o was one visitor. Mrs. Geo.
