W. ,MEETING On October 5th the Afternoon Unit of the Brussels U. C W. met at the home of Mrs, W. Turn, bull. The ThankSgiVing theme devo- tions were led by MrS. deVries, Mrs. J. Turnbull reading 'the Scripture. The President, Miss Skelton, took charge of thet bus- iness. The roll call showed 15 members and four visitors present and 18 calls reported. A pleasant feature was that two of the visitors were guests of the Turn- bull s from Pennsylvania, who are active members of a similar group, and compared their work and problems with ours. Later they gave each lady a very large, delicious nectarine grown in their State. The Thankoffering will be tak- en at the November 14th morning church service. Mrs. Thoma s and Mrs. Hoover were appointed dele- gates to the Regional meeting at illluevale in November. Mrs. Thomas read a story, "Dad's Thanksgiving LamP". Mrs. Miller introduced her Study with a story, "Mary of Northern Ont, arie", the Study topic being Poverty. An interesting discussion about this vital problem felloWed.
