Transportation Manager
Reporting to the Superintendent of 'Business
Affairs, the Transportation Manager will be re-
sponsible for the efficient operation of the School
Bus System, both Board Owned and Contracted
Systems involved.
This position will involve continuing syste-
matic review of all existing routes, contracts,
student concentrations and facilities with a view
to minimizing costs and improving service.
This is a senior position and salary paid will
be fully competitive.

Honored At Reception
A large crowd of neighbours
relatives and friends attended the
reeeption and dance in the Wal-.
ton Community Hall to honor the
recent newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs.
Graerne Craig. Mrs. Craig is the
former Helen Elliott, daughter.
of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Elliott,
Seaforth. Prior to lunch, the
couple were called to the platform
when an address of best wishes
was read by Fred Uhler. and a
gift of money was presented by
Keith Wilbee. During the evening
(lancing was enjoyed to the music
of Ian Wilbee and his orchestra.
Shower Honors
Bride-Elect
Mrs. Toni Shortreed and Emma
were hostesses in their home for
a miscellaneous shower on Wed-
nesday for Miss Judy King of
Gorrie, bride-elect, whose mar-
riage to Ken Shortreed takes
place on September 3. Mrs, Mack
Webster conducted three contests.
The bride-to-be, her mother, Mrs.
Ellen King of Gorrie and the
groom's mother, Mrs. Jim Short-
reed, were seated in decorated
chairs which formed the setting
of pink and white streamers with
white bell for the honored guest.
Many beautiful gifts were present-
ed to Judy from her friends, and
neighbours and she made a most
gracious reply. A delicious lunch
was served by the hostesses
assisted by Mra. Mack Webster.

W. I. "Fun Carnival"
The Walton Women's Institute
were hosts to a "Fun Carnival"
on Saturday evening in the Wal
ton Community Park.- The even-
ing began at seven when a ball
game got under way, between the
Midgets and the men of thercom-
munity. Judging of the decorated
bicycles followed when they form-
ed a circle around the park, mak-
ing a colorful parade. Danny
Achilles won first prize for the
best decorated bicycle and Peter
Bennett the most original decor-
ated bicyycle, each contestant re-
ceived a chocolate bar for their
effort. The Fish. Pond was a busy
spot and well attended by the
chldren, Many games of Bingo
were played. Ann and Keith Clark
entertained children with pony
rides. The ladies were kept busy
in the booth 'till long after dark.
The highlight of the evening was
the display of fireworks, and the
children made a wonderful sight
when they, formed a circle in the
park, with each one waving a lit
sparkler.

Muchan London, spent the week-
end with Mr. and Mrs, Earl. Dunn.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Purdy and
little daughter, Cathy, Cooks-
town, visited on the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Purdy and
Susan.
Mrs, Ed Giessler and daughter
Betty, Fraser, Mich., spent sev-
eral days here with Miss Martha
Jeschke and brother Herbert.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Houston,
.Miss Frances Houston, and Mrs.
John Bruce, Egmondville, called
on Miss Alice .T. Forrest on Sun-
day.

atoon, visited Mrs. Mac Engel and
Mr. and Mrs. Claire Long, Brus-

to attend the funeral of the late
Mrs. Wm teeming (Margaret
Love) at Seaforth recently.
