DAVIS A life-long resident (.4 this com- munity, Mrs. Ida Davis, widow of the late Charles Davis, died in Wingham and District'hospital on Monday, July 19th, 1971, She was in her 813th year. Born in Morris Township, the former Ida Dora Plat, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Flat, ,interested in many community activities, she was active in a number of organizations until her health failed. She was a member of the Brussels Horticultural Society, a director of the Ladies' Division of the Brussels Agricul- tural Society,' and a member of the Ladies' Guild of , Melville Presbyterian Chutch. There are no immediate surviv- ing members of her family. funeral service was held from the M. L. Watts Funeral Home in Brussels on Thnrsd0.37 July 22nd at 2 D.M. The Rev, C. A. McCerroll officiated. Campbell of Ethel, on Monday the 19th at 2 p.m. There were 24 members and 11:5 guests present. The president opened the meet- ing by welcoming all to her home followed by 0 Canada, the May minutes, treasurer's report and the roll call. Mr, 'Knight read the News Letter stating the 1.972 Con; vention will, be held in Kingston, Patti Boyd and Blair Smith of ListOwel favoured with two ac- cordlan duets.
