Look at the trees around you:
is there danger of 'them being un-
safe in a high wind? Don't get
under the tall, solitary tree; it

Experienced campers tell us
that the best place for food is in
the car trunk, so,that the food
odors won't attract raccoons,
skunks, and bears, who are natur-
al scavangers. Whatever you do,
don't feed wild life. They can be
real pests if you do, and they

Fire Protection
The imPert.ance of this can
never be stressed 9ften enough.
As a camper you have the respon-
sibility of seeing that your fire
does not result in a major fire,
even a forest fire, Never leave it
unattended, ,Kepe water handy.
To extinguish your fire douse it
with water, spread the embers,
and keep drenching it with water
until the embers are cooled off,. In
heavily forested camp areas use
water always to douse your fire —
not dirt. The humus in the soil
could burn also.
Finally, please do your part in
keeping our National and Pro-
vincial Parks free of litter. These
parks have proper garbage dispos-
al facilities. Please use them. Get
the whole family into the act by
"policing" your camp Aaily, pick-
ing up paper, cans, bottles, trash
and so on.
