LLOYD MICHEL
THROWS HAT
INTO PC RING
Lloyd Michel, well known, Lis-
towel real estate broker, an-
nounced that he will seek election
as the progressive Conservative
for Perth-Wilmot in the next
provincial election.
That election may well take
place this fall as Premier William
Davis indicated last week he will
go to the people before long.
Mr. Michel was elected presi-
dent of the riding association at
the organizations annual meet-
ing last January. He has served
as a director on the executive for
the past two years, and was asso-
ciated with the party in Huron
County for many years where he
supported the late Elston Cardiff.
The. Perth-Wilmot Association
will call a nomination meeting in
the near future when those inter-
ested in the candidacy will place
their names before the voting
delegates of the party.
At the moment several names
have been suggested for other
hopefuls, but Mr. Michel is the
first to come out and make a firm
commitment.
Whoever the PC standard bear-
er turns out to be, he will face

"THE GOOD DRIVER??
Victims of traffic crashes often
suffer financially and socially
long after their physically injur-
ies have healed, says the Ontario
Safety League. Between 15 and 20
per cent of those injured never
return to the same job, or exactly
?the same mode of life,
* * * * * *
Over half the autnaobiles on
the highway have had at least
two owners, says the Ontario
Safety League. Never trust un-
reservedly to the mechanical
soundness of the brakes and
steering of your own car —or of
the car that is following you. A
regular check will give pro-
tection from mechanical failure
of your own vehicle. The best
protection from the car behind
you is plenty of space from the
car ahead of you.
GOLEEN WORDS
BARTER
Life has loveliness to sell,
All beautiful and splendid things,
Blue waves whitened on a cliff,
Soaring fire that sways and sings,
And children's faces looking up.
Life has loveliness to sell,
Music like a curve of gold.
Scent of pine trees in the rain,
Eyes that love you, arms that
hold.
And for your spirits still delight,
Holy thoughts that star the night.
Spend all you have for loveliness,
Buy it and never count the cost;
For oue white singing hour of
peace
Count many a year of strife well
lost,
And for a breath of ectasy
Give all you have been, or could
be.
FIELD DRAINAGE
will improve crops and lands.
CLAY TILE
will reduce costs by providing many, many years of
service.
