Pollution and The Challenge of
Change in Rural Society in Rural
Society with comments by Mrs.
Campbell Wey. Mrs. Don Mc-
Donald opened the devotional
period with a. reading, A Sense of
Belonging followed by prayer,
Hymn 373 wits sting ' with Mrs.
Herb Traviss as pianist. The
scripture reading from Psalm 139
verses 7-1.1 was. read in unison,
Mrs. Harvey Craig gave comments
on "Thi s is the New Creed"
closing with a poem, "Thanks Be.
To God',. Hymn 390 'Was sung.
Mrs. D. McDonald closed this part
with prayer. Two contests were
enjoyed by the 24 ladies present.

McDonald and Mrs. Emmerson
Mitchell.. Mrs. Walter Bewley,
first vice-president conducted the
business. She thanked everyop.e
for taking part and was sorry
more were not able to attend. It
was suggested to have the pot
luck supper at a different month
in the year. Mrs. Bewley stressed
'that anyone- is welcome to attend'.

The last executive meeting was
read by the recording secretary,
Mrs.. Allan McCall. The next
executive 'meeting will be held
on the first Wednesday of June
at 2 p,m. It was voted to sponsor
a delegate to Westminster week-
end in May and Alma College in
in August if anyone could go. The
retreat at Nprthstreet Church,
Goderich will be held on Wednes-
day„lune 16. it was suggested
Mrs. Martin Baan and M.rs.
Cliff Ritchie go from the U.C.W.
It was decided to- purchase 10
Copies of Mandate, to be distri-
buted to all leaders. Mrs. Ken '
McDonald gave the treasurer's. re-
port and received the offering.
The .U.C,W. offered to buy the
paint for the outside of the manse,,
and help if needed. The supper
committee are to meet to revise
the prices on. all Menus.. FloWets
are to be placed in the church on
Sundays in May by the McKillop
in June by Walton Unit, in
July by the 17th and Boundary
Unit, in August by the 8th and
16th ljnit, in September by Mc-
Killop Unit and in October by the
Walton Unit. A bale is to be pack-
ed and all donations are to be
left in the church basement ..0y
May 31st, Rural Life Sunday was
announced for May 16th •followed
by lunch alter the morning ser-
vice with the 17th and Boundary.

WHAT'S UP
AT GUIDES?
Tuesday. May 4th, at the library
the Guides started their meeting
with the regular opening exer-
cises. Collection was taken. We
then had a game kicking the bean
bag. We were given back our
tests. We learned how to make
three kinds of knots. We then
closed with taps.
