IT MUST' BE
SPRING FEVER!
The female member of the staff
of the .Brussels Post was clumsy
enough to turn her ankle on a
portion of rough sidewalk and
break a bone iti her right foot,
This necessitated a trill to hos-
pital, having a beet put on, and
since then trying to get about on
crutches, I really don't think it
was spring fever. I ent slightly
over the ago to be sufficiently
affected to cause my Mishap.
With the publisher himself
under doctor's care reqniring trips
to hospital, the publishing of the
Pest got far behind schedule and

AT WALKERTON
Six women Of our area entered
the Ladies Bowliue Tournament
at the Midtown Bowl: in Walker-
ton recently, They came hotne
with a second in the B, averages,
losing top spot by 50 pins. The
consisted of: Doris _Mathe-
son, Shirley Ross, Dorothy Martin,
Ted Adams, Marilyn Higgins, and
RoseMary liandenburg.
Marilyn Higgins won the High
Single in the B. average with
300 and Dorothy Martin won sec-
ond iri the A, average with a 308.
Each girl received a ,creste for
the 300 club and prizes. The team
also Will receive prizes,

SHOWER HELD
FOR BRIDE-ELECT
Miss Laurel Hemingway Was
guest of honor at a Miscellaneous
shower held for her in the Brus-
sels United Church on Saturday
evening, May 1st.
It was held prior to her marriage
on Friday, May 21st, to Mr
Wallace East of Lindsay, Ont.,
formerly of Clinton District.
The seats of honor, which were
decorated with piunk and white
Streamers and a wedding
were occupied by Miss Laurel
Hemingway, bride-elect. Mrs.
Mary East, groom-elects mother,
Mrs. Eleanor Hemingway, bride-
elect's mother; and Mrs. Earl
'Bernard, grandmother of the
,groom-elect.
The program consisted of two
vocal duets by Linda; Axtmann
and 'Dianne Godkin accompanied
by Marion Godkin; two solos by
Julie Campbell, accompanied by
Betty Campbell; a reading entitl-
ed "A Marriage Recipe" by Marie
LeDrew: two dance numbers by
Car' Wheeler and Cathy Cardiff;
two violin selections by Phyllis
Mitchell accompanied on the
:piano by Luin Kerr; O. contest
concluded by Elsie Miller on T.V.
commercials, and several hilar-
ious selections by the Institute
band The Stompers".
The address to Laurel was read
by Elsie Miller and the gifts,
which were numerous and oe
a varied nature, were preserited
by a number of little girls.
Laurel made a very suitable
reply thanking all the ladies for
their beautiful gifts, all those who
had lit any way contributed to the
presenting of the shower and in-
vited them to her new home in
Lindsay,
After a delicious lunch eereed
by a number of friends and neigh ,
hours assisted by the juvenile
attendants all retired to their
repectiVe home leaving Laurel
with their best wishes for

Mrs. Georgina Wilson of Barrie
passed away suddenly in. Royal
Victoria Hospital, Barrie, • on
May 4th, 1971.
She was the former Georgina.

She Is survived by her husband

(Mary) Ellis of Markham, Ont.;

Rested at the Hughes Funeral
Home, Cookstown, where funeral
service was held. 'Wednesday
evening,. May 5th at 9 p.m. Then
to the M. L. Watts Funeral Home;
Brussels, where funeral service
was held Thursday, May 6th. at
3 p.m. Interment was in Brussels.

In a news bulletin released to-
day, it was learned that a premis-
ing young rookie of the Toronto
Maple Leafs will be in Brussels
on Thursday, May 20th.
Darryl Staler, a hard, fast
skating forward with the Toronto
Club, during the 'past season will
be guest of the evening.
A hockey film is being provid-
ed by Molsone' along with cere-
ment and hockey tips from
Darryl, and a question, and answer
period to follow will make up the
