TOWARD THE END
What will it be teward the end
for me?
Will I see
The sun corning up
When I cannot sleep?
Colours — red and green 'and
brown
And all the others
Sky and senset,
And flowers, all the lovely
flowers.
And, grass and trees?
And eyes: Will I dare to look?
they be kind and trite?
tired-of-you -
Will T hear,
Ah! the soothing sounds of wind
and rain and music?
And voices? Dare I listen?
Will they be: sweet and calm
And accepting the?
Or harsh and hurried,
And, must this person be?
If I can only feel —
hands helping me
from bed to chair
Will they care
be. gentle and sure?
Oh make me feel
they wieh I wasn't there.
