hope she is much improved by
this time after her operation last

Euchre Party
At the progressive euchre, held
in the. Community Hall Friday
evening, Dec, 11th, there were 7
tables in play. The winners were:

Mrs. G. McCall; high gent, Keith
-Clark; low. John Simpson, Brus-
sels. Most zeros on card was also
won by John Simpson. Lunch was
served by the committee iu
charge. The next euchre was
announced for January 8, 19.71..
8th and 16th U.C.W. Unit
The .December meeting of the
Sth and 16th Unit was held 'at the
home of Mrs. Don McDonald, on.
Wednesday afternoon. Dec. '9th.
The Christmas Story was given
by Mrs. Jan van Vliet Jr. and Mrs,
Don Fraser. "Joy to the World"
was sung and Mrs. van Vila led
in prayer. Christmas Carols were
sung. Mrs. Don Fraser read an
article on "The Meaning of Christ-
mas" and led in .prayer. 13 memb-
ers answered the roll call. "Christ-
mas Custom in Other. Countries"
and there was. one visitor present.
The minutes of the last meeting
were read by the secretary. and
the regular collection 'was receiv-
ed. The business portion was con-
ducted by Mrs. Doug Fraser. The
January meeting is to • be at Mrs.
Wilbur•• Turnbull's home in Brus-
sels. A Thank-you card was read
and an invitation to a meeting in
Brussels Presbyterian Church,
Dec. 15th. at 8:30 was received.
Grace was sung and a delicious
supper was served by the losers'
of the CoppOr Contest. -

Vesper Service was ,held in Duff's

evening, December 13th. The

lit • and took their seats in the
front pews. Rev. D. Doken read
the Christmas message while' Mrs.
Docken, Marion MeCallum, • and
Gwen Bosnian conducted the
'worship service. Mary and .Joseph
were played by KIM Humphries
and Ann Watson 'Margaiiiet Short-'
reed and Patty McDonald took the
part o'f the Shepherds. The candle.

The regular meeting of the
Guild was opened by Jean Ireland
with a few appropriate thoughts.
Hymn. 643 was sung. Scripture
was Psalm 116. A poem "God arts-
weres prayer " was read, Mary
Davidson led in prayer. Illizabeth
Elliott gave the topic "Our Obli-
gations" Hymn 641 and the Belie-
diction closed the ineetipg.
A delicious lunch was served *by
the committee.
