The Christmas Concert sponsor- ed by the Walton Women's Insti- tute has been changed to Satur- day evening, Dec. 19, to be held in the Community Hall, U.C.W. Christmas Meeting The Christmas ;meeting of the U.C.W. was Yield in the basement of Duff's Church on Wednesday, afternoon. Dec. 2. Mrs. Doug Fraser of the 8th and 16th 'Unit was in charge of the devotional neriod. After the opening Call to Worship a hymn was sung with Mrs. Martin Dann at the piano. Mrs. Fraser read the scripture in form of the Christmas Story, Hymn 55 was sung followed by prayer by Mrs. Fraser. The offer- ing was received and dedicated. A panel consisting of Mrs. Don McDonald, Mrs. Alvin McDonald, Mrs. Harold Bolger and Mrs. Doug Fraser took part in telling the. story of the "Miracle of Chrits". Hymn 47 was sung. Mrs. Fraser closed this part of the meeting with prayer. Mrs. Win. Roe was in charge of the business opening with a poem. Minutes were adopt- ed as read by Mrs. Allan McCall. The Treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Ken McDonald with a most satisfactory financial re- port for the year's work. The standing committee reports were given and several thank-you cards were read. The business was attended to with an Executive meeting called for Monday night to plan the programs for the com- ing year. Donations were made to cover expenses of the bale going overseas, the, Child- ren's Aid Society, Goderich, and to send two young people of our church to Toe Alpha in Niagara, It was decided to hold the TI.C.W, general meetings every other month alternately • with executive meetings on first Wednesday of every month. The S.S. Christmas 6mcert is being planned for Tues- day, Dec. 22, at 8 p.m. Reports from each unit are to be given a the January meeting. Mrs. Roe. extended her thanks to all who had helped her in the past, year and closed the meeting with prayer. The executive served, a dainty lunch followed by a social half hour. CHRISTMAS KETTLE AGAIN TO BE SEEN' The Salvation Array Christmas Kettle, long a tradition in this area will again he seen on. the streets of Brussels. For many years now, the Kettle has heel), manned by a local Salvationist, Herb Phillips, whose cheery smile and friendly "(300, Bless Yon" is enough to warm the coldest heart. It will no different this year. Herb will again be on the street inviting you to help the Salvation Army to help others who are less fortunate.. Last year volunteers froM the Wingham Corps of The Salvation. Army were able to deliver to some thirty farnilies in this and sur- rounding communities articles of toys, clothing; games, food and many other items that brought. to them a much happier Christmas, hana they would normally enjoy. Again this year they hope to do the same, But it can't, be done , without your help! So when you See Herb and the "Christmas Kettle", don't walk by without first making your contribution 'to a happier Christmas for some- one, somewhere. By the way, do you 'know a fam- ily in need of assistance? Thon make sure they're not forgotten this Christmas by calling 357-1951 and referring their name. Shop in Brussels on Saturday.
