"THE GOOD DRIVER",
The composition. of traffic on
highways is just one index of the
difference between the western
world and the less developed
nations. For instance, the Ontario .
Safety League quotes a recent
survey made at a ferry site in
India where a bridge is needed.
A sample of 1,522 vehicles gave
11/2 % motorey-cles. 4% passenger
cars, 9% buses, 19% trucks,
30% bullock carts and 30 %biey-
ekes. The bullock cart is still the
most important slow-moving ve-
hicle in India.
