September U.C.W. Meeting
The September U.C.W. meeting
was held in the basement of
Duff's United Church, Wednesday
evening with 23 members present
and one visitor. The President of
the Walton Unit, Mrs. Gerald
Watson was charge of the de-
votions opening with hymn 502,
with Mrs. Martin 13een at the
piano. 'The scripture Lesson from
chapter 15 of John, verses 13 -16
was read by Mrs. Watson followed
by Mrs. Walter Bewley giving
prayer. Hymn 136 was sung,
Closing this pert the meeting.
Mrs. Charles Meautcheon gave a
splendid report of her experiende
of her four days at Alma College
in St. Thomas which she attended
in August as a delegate 'from the
U.C.W. The Theme tor the con,
ference was ‘vod: and His
Dilorna". Mrs, James Clark, 2nd
Vice President took over the
business,, thanking all that had
taken part in the devotions and
the meseage from. the Speaker:
The Purpose and Function of the
United Church Women was re-
peated in unison. Mrs. 'Allan
McCall read the minutes of the
-last general meeting.. correspon-
dence of Thank You cards were
read by Mrs. Nelson Marks.
Reports were given by the com-
mittees. It was decided to send a
bale this fall, clothing to he left
et the church no later than the
15th of October. The next corn-
