3. Hanover High School Trumpet Band — additional performance during afternoon
program.
4. Floats from the present Blyth, Brussels and Belgrave Schools.
Non-competitive, each receives $10.00.
5. 1969 students competitive classes:
(a) Best decorated tricycle (boys' and girls combined)

The August meeting of the
Walton Women's Institute, was
held in the Community Hall
Wednesday' evening, August 20,
The president, Mrs. Alvin Mc-
Donald, called the meeting to
order with the institute Ode, the .
Mary Stewart Collect and 0
Canada was sung with Mrs. W.
H. 'Humphries at the piano. The
minutes of the last, meeting were
read by the secretary. Mrs. W.
HuMphriea followed by the
treasurer's report. The names tor
the Birthday Calendars are to be
handed, in by the 15th of Sept. to
Mrs. E. Stevens, NH's. Bos or
Mrs. W. Hamphries. The Institute
are sponsoring two clubs for the
fall project, 'Focus on Fitness",
the leaders for Walton. I are Mrs.
'Gerald Watson and Mrs. Allan
Searle, for Walton. II club, are
Mrs. Allan McCall and Beverly
McCall. Correspondence was
attended to. Cranbtiook extended
an invitation to attend their meet-
ing on Sept. 1. Mrs. Geo. Reist
will be the guest speaker on the
Tweedamitin Book, Huron County
Rally Was announced for MOnday,
October 5th at. Centralia, dele,
gates nominated were Mrs. Gee,
McCall and. Mrs, Ken McDonald.
It was decided to have a dieplay
at the Brussels Fall Fair. Mrs. J.
&xtman and Mrs. LaVerrte Enaclkin
to look after setting it up. The
nest Meeting Mr. Mill Will speak
on estate taxes; this to be an. Open
meeting. Mrs, J. 'van Vliet Jr., was
in charge of the rest of the meet-
ing on, Agriculture and Canadian
Industries as a fun entertainment
program. Many humorous answers
Were given by each member for
the Roll Call "The Most Embar-
rasing moment in my life".
Several contests were enjoyed.
Mrs. W. Humphries and Mrs. R.
Huether gave the closest number
of jelly beans in a jar. Mrs. W.
B. Turnbull modelled an apron
with different articles tacked to
it. This Was won by Mrti. H. Craig
rer flaming the Moat articles. Mrs.

Walton II 4-H Club
The first meeting of the Walton
II club for the fall project 'Toed:,
on Fitness"' was held Wednesday
afternon, August 26th at the home
of Mrs. Allan McCall with six
girls present, 'The Meeting opened
with the 4-H pledge. In the
business the election of officers
took place as fellows:

Patty McDonald

Mrs. McCall and Beverly gave
notes on "Mentally Fit: Person"
.and "Make Leisitre a Pleasure".
Suggestions were explained to
the girls on the requirements of
their Record Books. Each girl
decided on one of the crafts she
would. Make to be displayed at
Achievement Day. They could
choose, from a stuffed toy, a
mobile, knitting or 'nick weaving.
The next meeting 'was set for
Sept. S, at 7:30 at the leader's
Home. The meeting closed with
the 4-H motto "Learn to dO by
aping".
CRANBROOK
Afternoon W.M.S. Group
Mrs. Stuart NTC,Nair was hostess
for the September meeting of the
afternoon group of the W.M.S.
with Mrs. Clare. Veitclf" as leader.
The Scripture reading I Kings 7:
13-22 was read in unison and a
meditation given by Mrs. 'Veitch.
comments On ii Timothy, Ch: 2,
verse 5 were read by several
members. 'Pollowing a prayer and
a hymn Mrs. Stuart McNair gave
a reading, "To-Morrow". The
parable of the "Good Samaritan"
was read by Mrs. Mac Engel, Miss
Alice J. Forrest gave a splendid
topic, on 'lleconciliation with the
[flack Map", followed by' readings
on famous colored men who Were
inventors and famous in Other
fields, by several members. Mrs.
W. Strickler conducted the
business and the roll call "name
occupation mentioned in the
Bible". Mrs. Earl Dunn gave a
reading "Ten Little Clerics". The
meeting closed with a hymn and
prayer by the leader. A "name the
hymn" contest was enjoyed and
ltinch was served by Mrs. John
Strickler and the hostess.
