Benefit Dance Held
A • large crowd attended the
benefit dance 'for Mr. and Mrs.
Thamer in the Brussels Legion
Hall last Friday evening. Music
was supplied by the Ian Wilbee
orchestra.

The bridWs Weddin dress was
empire-Waisted of white crystal-
lette with white daisy trial, I'ler
floor length, train fell from the
shoulders held by daisy WM. Her
four tiered veil was held by
crown of floWers and rhinestones.
She carried a briquet of yellow
roses and baby Mullis;
Maid' of honor was Miss Marni

were Mrs, Shirley Oesch, Zurich,
and Miss. Gwen 'Rosman, Walton,
sisters of the grooM, They wore
gowns of mauve crystalette styled
Similar to that of the bride's.
Their boo -tuts were of white
daisies and yellow mums,
The best man was David
Wheeler of Brussels and ushers
were John Penning-ton, Brnssels
and. Murray Lowe, brother of the
bride.
Dinner was served at, 5:00 p.m.
in the United Church basement
where the bride's mother received
guests wearing a pink chiffon
over taffeta with white accessor-
ies and she wore a. white garden-
ia. The groom's mother wore a
lime green whipped cream crepe
with white accessories and wore
a white gardenia.
The reception was held at the
Brussels Legibn Hall. The bride
chose a navy and white form
fitted dress with white acces-
envies and corsage of red roses.
They toured the US.A. and
stayed for a few days in. Florida
On returning home Mr. and
Mrs, Bosnian took up residence
at R. R. 1, Walton. Jim is an
eMplOyee of Boird Motors in.
Goderich and Ann is employed,
with Dr. Culbert (dentist) in
Brussels,

father of the bride, and Mrs, M,

MRS. WALTER WILLIE
Saratt Alice Sunnite of
Winghain died in Winginon acid
District Hospital on So tnadaye
August; 22erl, at the age of 60
years, following a lengthy nines's.
Born in Ethel, she was the
daughter of the late William and
Sarah Echinier, She' received her
early education in Ethel. She was
marriefi to Walter Sminie at
Atwood, Ont„ on April 19th, 1924,
Her husband perdeceased her in
1957. They had farmed on the let
line of Morris Township, She was
a member of the Presbyterian
Church and a life member of the
Women's Society and a member
Of the Women's Institute. She had
been a patient in the Cailantler
Nursing Horne since April 1069
and was taken to :Wingham Hos-
pitel in July.
She is survived by one sister,
Mrs, Edith Gilkinson of Listowel
and four brothers, Cecilreekmier,
Brussels; Wm, Eclanier, Willow-
dale; Russell Eckmier, Windsor;
Glenn Eickmier, Sault Ste. Marie;
One mister and three brothers pre-
dese,aee her, Mrs. Ella McNichol,
Lorne Eckmier, Hanley Eckinfer,
and Me v llackmiee.
The' funerill service was held
Monday, August 24th, from the
Currie Vnneral Ronne, Wingham,
at 2: pen. conducted by' Rev.
Gordon Fiala Scarborough, forta-

The benefit dance held for Mr.
and Mrs. WM% Timmer of Walton,
attracted a large crowd to the
Brussels Legion Hall on Friday
night, Walter Bewley expressed
the regret of the community on
the unfortunate' fire that recently

LIVES ENDANGERED 1BY
UNLAWFUL BARRICADE
A barricede placed across
Huron County Road 12, just
south of Brussels, almost cost the
liven of two pOople. Wayne Raker,
Atwood, at, ten o'clock Saturday
night. ran into the unlighted
obstruction that had been erected
apparently by persons wine were
looking for a thrill that very
