appreeiation for the friendliness
of the people and his satisfaction

ian of the graduating class.

GREY TOWNSHIP HOME
DESTROYED .BY FIRE
The home of Mr. and Mrs,
Harvey. Smith, lot 22, concession
1L of Grey Township, was com-
pletely destroyed by 'fire of un-
determined origin at approxim-
ately two o'clock Sunday after-
noon,
The contents of the house, other
than a few articles of -furniture,
were lost in the blaze,
Firemen :from Grey Township,
fire department, assisted by the
Brussels fire bridgade and the
Blyth tanker, were successful in
their fight to prevent the spread
of the flatnes to the nearby barn,
which was in:, imminent danger,
and the driving shed.
1S-year-old-soil of Mr. and
Mrs. Smith, was the only member
of the faininn at 'lame at the time
of the fire.

The death occurred in Strat-
ford on June 30 of Mrs. A. H.
stun:, the former Viola Mitehell, a.
former resident of this commun-
ity. She was the youngest daught-
er of the late John Mitchell and
Martha Vodden and resided on
the 10th and 12th concessions of
'drey Township when a young
girl and attended Cranbrook
school.

CAR-TRUCK CRASH
KILLS AREA 34AN
Tragedy again struck the llart
family of Grey Township when
Aylmer George Hart was killod in
a car-truck crash on Tuesday'.
• The fatal accident ocurred at
.p.m, on a Grey Township non-
cession road two. and a halt' miles
south of Molesworth, lie was 15,
Mr. Hart was reported to he
travelling west when the uollision
occurred with a Nicholson Haul-
age gravel truck driven by Jack
Nicholson of Bluevale. Both
vehicles overturned. Mr. Nichol-
son was taken to Listowel Hospital
with scalp lacerations where he
was reported in satisfactory con-
dition,
