meeting was opened by singing

All contestants will compete in Preliminary Contests on
Thursday and Friday evenings. Entry fee is 55.00 and must
accompany each entry.. Each contestant on Thursday and
Friday evening will receive $6.00„ The top two contestants in
each of three talent classes on each evening, Thursday and
Friday, will compete Saturday night for prizes of 1st. $25.00 ;
2nd. $20.00; 3rd. $15.00 and 4th. $5.00 in each of the three
classes. In case of rain contest will take place under cover.

Mr. J. W. McLaren, of Ben-
miller. told the T3emiller Story
and he thanked Mr. Tait Clark. A
display of Iieninr.iller woollen
blankets were commented on by
Mrs. Harold Turner. some being
07er '75 years old. Mr. McLaren
showed colorful pictures of the
Ileniniller early days and now
these will he placed at the Arch-
ives room with the taped eon-
gnents.

PAST'S A PROBLEM
IN HURON COUNTY
Noting only a slight decrease
in the incidence of rable8 in Heron
County from 1998, Dr. P, A.
EVans, county medical officer of
health, said the disease is still a
considerable enviromental prob,
lem rvans, in making his
1169 report to county council said
it is regrettable the health of
animals branch of the federal
department of agriculture has dis-
continued surveillance of quaran-
tined animals by sub-district
• veterinarians.
