Murray opened with a poem "Taking a Chair". She spoke on the surroundiag lusti7 Lutes' year of forming, how close the Institute stuck to the original founding. Institute ladies are ever on the alert, ready, to make any changes for the betterment of the community. The lustitue gives rural women a 'progressive out- look, benefit is learning in every given opportunity. The institute have several laws passed, they face the future with a challenge, it's a success to each indiVidual we should never forget we are a great link in our community, our home and country. Mrs. W. E. Tnurnball expressed her thanks for the very inspiring message.. ,Mrs. A. McDonald added her thanks to Mrs. Murray for cont ing. Mrs. Don Achilles welcomed the new members into the Insti- tute. They are: Mrs, Jack Gordon, Mrs, Harold Wilson, Mrs. Nor- Man Schade and 'Mrs. W. J, Leending. Mrs. W. H. Humphries gave the financial report and the minutes were read of the last year annual. Reports Were given frmn the Standing Committees: Mrs. Gordon MaGaVin for Ai ri7 culture and Canadian Industries; Mrs. 'Gerald Watson for Citizen, Ship and Education; Mrs." James' AXIniatin for Home Economics and Health; Mrs. James Clark for Historical Research and Current Events; Mrs., Herb Williamson for Resolutions; Mrs. 'Ken McDonald for Public RelationS, Mrs: Allan MCCall as Sunshine Convenor and Mrs, Wilbtir Turnbull as Curator. Mrs. Gordon MoGavin seconded the following .motions. Mrs. Lyle Murray conducted the election of •officers for the coming year. Dave Watson, convenor of the nominating Committee, read the slate of officers. Mrs. Janies Fritz was voted a branch director.
