Mrs,. Kite Mother as Pianist. Mrs.
L. Mitchell led in prayer followed;.
by. Mrs. pen Achilles giving the.
Scripture taken, from Luke ,3,
verses '23-44. The new version of
485 was, sung. Mrs, :D. Achille ,
read the meditation, A suitable
poetic on lent waS giVell by 'Mrs.
Mitchell, this day being the he•
ginning of lent, The offering was
taken, by Mrs, Nelson Warks and
dedicated by Mrs, Ey. Mitchell
The Topic, given by Mrs. 'N.
;Marks, was in the form of a Mis-
sionary letter, telling of the
struggles, these devoted followers
have in hospitals trying to heal
under poor conditions, and at t'ne
same time doing their best to im-
prove" facilites, A thorough sum:
.nary on the Huron-Perth Presby-
terial meeting held in. Clinton was
given by Mrs. Nelson. Reid. It was
emphosi•Od in the morning ses-
sion, "'What we do with Money",
is "What we do with ourselves"
Money is a pair of legs, taking us
where we could never go, Money
is a pair of hands performing
ministries our hands could never
perffirm. Money is a. voice that
can speak in many languages
where our voice could not' be
heard. In this manner we can
reach out to give to others, other
giftS, joined with outs, make noe-
s-11de the varied ministries of the
chprelt in all the world) In the
afternoon sitting, the speakers
dealt with this year's United
Church theme "Live Love". We
must be aware of the "lack of
love". all around us 'when so
many are turning to drugs etc.
Om' mistrust in people is another
dOwnfall we are guilty of. The
awareness to help our fellow man
is again something we all, as
Christians, may improve upon.
We must realize when "the.
church" is called upon. for sup•
port in any way each and every
one of us are part of it and should
do our utmost as responsible
Christians, to shoulder our share
of the burden, Mrs. Reid finished
her interesting coverage of thiS
meeting by stating she hoped next
year there would he a larger at-
tendance. of the younger church
members present, as they will he
the leaders in the future to carry
out, the work Or our' churches, Mrs.
Mrs. Allan McCall opened the
business period by expressing her
thanks to all the ladies taking
part in the devotions, The Roll
Call consisted of an interesting
answer period when 23 members
named their first $tindaY Selina
teacher, including the. specifie
church. A Thankyon Card was
read frotn Mrs. Jack MCEWing
Mrs. TTackwell read the
minutes of the. lost meeting, they
were adopted as read by the presi-
dent.. 'The Treasurer's' .report Svcs
