LISTEN AGAIN
The article referred to in the
item "Listen Here". contributed
two weeks ago by a teen-ager, did,
not intend to criticize, all parents
nor did it condem all teen-agers,
The writer has a great (Teal, of re-
spect and admiration for the
majority of the young people of
today, They are aware, find more
eoncerned about our troubled world
than over hollore, Most parents try,
and succeed, exerting control
with consideration and understand-
ing. lint when youngsters, barely
iii their teens, and younger, are
roaming the streets until the late
hours of the night. something is
amiss.
Certainly this 'village has not all
the facilities the young people
would like to have, and it would. be
goOd to have, hut we don't., agree
that nothing has been done. it is
discouraging, after the. thousands
Of dollars the Lions have spent on
playgrond eq.uipment, picnic park,
repairs to 'ball park facilities, to
see the equipment smashed, time
and time again, The windows of
the bath house at the Wading pool,
built recently as a Centennial pro-
ject, have all beet deliberately
smashed. The. Legion sponsor
Minor Hockey and other activities.
The work, and facilities nrovided
by the Recreation Committee, can-
not be m'etiooked,
A swimming pool. is desireable,
and something not only teen-agers
would like but members of the

as well, desire one. Time InVb-
loin of money is very real, and
of grave concern to many. In-
quiries were made as to the cost
of a Pool meeting the necessary
regulations. The estimated cost
was $51,000, With $24,000 still

building, those concerned felt that

consider our residents who simply

A short life cattle to a peaceful
end on TitesdaY, October 22nd,
when Walter David ''Kerr, 11/2 ,
passed away' at the Hospital for
Sick Children, Toronto.
Wally, who was 'the son of
John and Barbara. (Stirling') Kerr,
Was horn in Walkerton on April
11th, 1962. His early life w.as spent
in MildmaY and in 1965 he moved
with his parents to Richmond
Hill. Tie was Creche 2 of Crosby
Heights 'Public. School, Wally was
an avid sports enthusiast. test
whiter he was goalie tor the Rich-
mond Hill Mites and this summer
played on the. soeeer• 'team. He
attended Sunday School and
Church at St. Paul's Lutheran
Church,
BeSides his parents be is 'surviv-
ed by a sister, Kathryniage 6, and
grandparents, Mr, and Mrs. 'Walter
Kerr of Brussels and Mrs. Lawr-
ence Stirling of Kincardine.
The funeral was held from St,
Paul's Lutheran Church, Richmond
Hill, on Saturday, October 25th.
