Replanting: benefits alone ac-
counted for sonic 200 claims invol-
ving 1,000 insured acres neces-
sitalin approximately 4,500,000 re-
illants. These benefits. Commis-
sion spokesmen state, are payable
in addition to such crop damage
payments as may ensile,
Many replanted crops were
flooded out later, or seriouSlY im-
paired. as Well as CrOPS WItiC11 sur-
vived the frost. The whole picture
reports the Commission, is one of
gradual deterioration,
As a result of crop damage sur-
veys, the CommiSSiOn finds that
considerable acreage which would
ordinarily be destroyed before
har'VeSt will be continued in the
hope of salvaging whatever yield
is obtainable. In an effort to co-
operate with the growers and the
processors, such acreage will he
regarded, 1Nthere possible, as bar-
vestable acreage and the grower
will receive the maximum corn ,
pensation,
Total liability at risk under the
Commission's ProceSSing 'Tomato
Plan is $1,500;000.
